Very true and in five years people will find the prices we're paying incredibly stupid. But I could get hit by a bus manana, so I like to give myself as much leeway as possible and 500(or so) bucks for a cool new gadget is OK for me. I've gotten at least a grands worth of gee whiz moments with my $408 64GB Samsung SSD. Will never go back, no way no how.

Will the 130W E-Port plus docking station work with the M6400, or do I have to get the pricier 210W E-Port plus? I understand they're the exact same dock, just one comes with a bigger power supply for the M6400, right?

I'm looking at this and the M6400 isn't listed, but I assume that's just because the 130W power supply isn't offically approved for the M6400.

In short, what's the cheapest way to go to get dual monitors from a dock? Will the standard E-Port do dual monitors?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sorry, search isn't helping.

You can definitely use this replicator with your existing PSU - but the 130W is probably not enough on its own... You can either buy a spare 210 slim PSU from DELL, or buy the replicator with the 210W PSU direct. I did the former for a replcator bought via ebay.

    Cheers, Paul.

SDHC card - will it work with M6400? I have a 10 month old (purch. Jan09) M6400 that even with WinXPSP3 update that includes the High Capacity SD card hotfix, have trouble8*** reading ANY SD card regardless of size (4-16gb) or type (SD or SHDC). I'd like to be ble to use the 16gb Kingston SDHC card with tthis machine, is there a hardware or driver upgrade I can get to enable this?

    Cheers,
    Dennis

You can get the manuals from the http://support.dell.com website, or directly here for the M6400

    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/wsm6400/

here you can select your language (yor nickname seems familiar to me...:))
and get the service manual or read it online (html version).
Among other things there is a step by step guide to get access to the different parts..

    Ciao

I'm also interested in knowing whether it will fit in the M6400.
PM me if you find the answer.
