I applied arctic silver 5 (but only to my cpu) 'cause it helped a lot on my former M4400. I just checked 3DMarks06 with HWMonitor and was suprised that the temps were so low. I think in real games the FX3700 gets hotter (During the CPU part of the 3dMark the FX3700 cools down, so it can't heat up to max).

I just wanted to point out, that the cooling system of the M6400 is very efficient (after the 3DMark it only took 20s to cool down to idle temps, the two fans (1 for the FX3700 and a 2nd for cpu & gpu) do a very good job) so I don't think the QX9300 + FX3700 would lead to overheating problems, 'cause it's just a plus of 10W on the TPM (T9400 35W vs. QX9300 45W). The FX2700 is just 10W lower than the FX3700 so I don't think it's a good decision to choose the FX2700 due to it's lower thermal design.

Ok. That's good !!! I feel better. I really want to like this machine. I'm getting impatient but the bad news is ...

I placed my order but it has been sitting in Order processing status on Dell's website for the past 2 days. I called the Dell rep and he told me the usual story... .don't worry... no problem... blah blah blah.
A few years ago I had an issue where my order was in processing for 2 weeks. It took me a couple of days to find and email the VP and got my laptop 2 days after.

I just hope I don't have to do that again....
