Well they want to make sure you receive the package as well in a safe location so they don't get scammed by you saying that you never got your laptop because it got lost during the shipping or something. Also, if the laptop does get lost during the shipping, knowing that is was sent to a valid residential address will reduce the sketchiness of the process.

Is there a UPS or FedEx/Kinko's location close by? They might ship to there for you to pick it up?

    hi all

I am currently battling with teh decision between the M4600 and the lenovo W520. I think I've just about got to the below configuration for the dell. I know this is config-by-dell option rather than personal upgrade, but this seems to be the sweet-spot to get me going fast (I need this machine running day 1)

I'm using this to run virtualised Sharepoint instances for demos and dev... any thoughts from any exising owners?

i know there;s loads of SSD improvements I could make myself but as I say I need this running well day 1 without rebuild time. I also thought about 1600Mhz memory but not sure of the boost here (and haven't had time to twal this thread yet!!)

I am also buying this in the UK so no IPS options for me :(

You should check again with your sales person. I know for a fact that the IPS RGB panel is now available in the UK.

The SSD minicard drive goes into the 54mm express card slot, as far as I know...

It goes in the WWAN slot on the motherboard. In the M4600 instruction manual, go to the section about the WWAN card. Follow those directions, except you will obviously not be connecting any antenna wires. For the screw, just steal the one from the HDD caddy latch (the HDD latch screw is only there for shipping, it isn't actually needed and it works perfect for the mini SSD).
