    Hi jbatacan2,
As for your question 90C under full load is somewhat hot in my opinion for M4600, although still safe for the processor. I had i5 2520m and switched it for i7 2820qm which is faster than aforementioned 2670qm. When all cores and threads are 100% loaded I've got about 78-82C and all the cores are running on 3,0GHz Turbo infinitely.
I would strongly advise you to use good thermal paste and clean both heatsink and cpu with alcohol or something similar. First I've put this cpu in with Revoltec Thermal Grease and was reaching 95C easily. I've cleaned it with 99,98% clean alcohol and put Arctic MX-2 thermal paste on it and everything is great since, even when both cpu and gpu are loaded to the max.

Quick answer to your question: M4600 cooling system is very capable and shouldn't had any problems with keeping laptop cool and without any signs of throttling.

Just wondering, is it possible to combine the M5100 GPU upgrade with the IPS screen?

Or is it only possible for the non-IPS (I presume TN) displays?

I believe for this generation, an NVIDIA GPU is required for the IPS display.

    It might actually be possible.

At least one person managed to get it working, a Firepro M5100 + 1080p IPS.

    Very interesting.

My M4600 just shipped; hoping it will arrive this weekend. I bought a Samsung SM843T for it as well. Hopefully the seller was honest about the specs.

Is your laptop work properly with quadro and did you disable nvidia optimus in bios? And by your LED you mean power button with LED, do you?

First check your bios battery, how is a voltage on her( should be aprox. 3V), next replace your m5100 for quadro 1000m and check if you have enable nvidia optimus. Then put firepro again and it should work without any problems. Of course make sure that you plug graphic card correctly. It should work without any problem.
