    Hi guys,

I have a weird issue i've not seen before with my Firepro equiped M4600.

Basically, my eyefinity adapter died. As we received a new batch of screens, i got a hold of a Dell U2312HM screen, which has a DisplayPort and used that one as a third screen, with just a normal DisplayPort male/male cable between the docking station of my M4600 and the screen.

So, at this point there is no Eyefinity adapter at all, but the screen natively supports DP.

    Eyefinity is configured as following:
    - Laptop screen on, laptop on the docking station (non HD model, so 1366*768)
    - Primary display Samsung P2370 on DVI (1920*1080)
    - Dell U2312HM on DP (1920 * 1080)

The issue that i'm facing is that at random times, the third screen starts flickering, BUT only when there is a full screen window on it. It never flickers when it's showing the desktop or small windows, but the whole screen repeatedly turns black for a fraction of second when I put Outlook, Firefox, Visual studio or whatever on that screen. So far, it seems that Windows Explorer in full screen does not cause the flickering.

It's weird because that happens a lot at times, and almost not at all at other times.

I've read something about the GPU that may be idling at a too low clock, i've downloaded ATI Tray Tools, but I don't really know what to change. At first I went to GPU overclocking, and set 333mhz instead of 250mhz (bios setting was 768mhz so i assumed it was quite a safe value), but all screens instantly turned black and my machine froze. Rebooting the machine brings me back to the original issue.

Is the flickering a known issue? What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Any news on this?
I have just ordered the M6600 with 2GB RAM from Dell and try to decide which DIMMS to order.
(I am thinking of running SuperCache with a dedicated 16 GB area mirrored to SSD.)

decided my questions warrant a new thread...i think. GPU questions and value questions on buying a refurb with a 2920xm processor for about $2400. System spec is 2000m, 16gb ram, blue ray burner and IPS display to name a few high-dollar upgrades. I'll go make a thread..

The screen on full Power uses also quite a lot as it is so bright. Uses around 5 Watts when on full brightness and less than a Watt when on second lowest setting (which mostly is sufficient for me). On Idle it shows me about 11 hours sometimes as the power consumption drops to as low as 8.9 Watts in complete idle.
Surfing, text editing and working with excel gives me about 7 to 8 hours.

But, oh...mhh you are talking about the Firepro...missed the point there as I have a 2000M...

Flashed the bios to A08 yesterday and during the restart the PC turns off so i have to manually turn it on every time. Does anyone have the same problem?

Also, i've purchased a refurb laptop that came with OS disk, but no drivers cd. What kind of software i have to install to get backlit kb settings and OSD? Thanks

So I pulled the trigger and called DELL today. Not to buy a system but to request for return under 21 days and hoping I would get an offer of $100 dollar refund/gift card or gift whatever that I read over at the Alienware forum. The lady asked why I want to return it and I told her it is too heavy and I found something of better value from HP. She acknowledged it and simply went straight to processing the return. LOL I gotta give her credit for the prompt action, but where is my 100 dollar refund!?!?

That's what you get for toying.

Why are you doing this and why are you so proud as to openly admit doing this?
