My M4600 is being shipped today - and I will receive it tomorrow.
Now - one thing I noticed - it is shipping from NASHVILLE, TN.
Does this mean M4600 is made in USA (or at least assembled in US)?
That would make my day/week - I am actually paying some americans (oh yes) :):):)

Some time ago I say that will never bought another ATI card again, special in a laptop. But this machine was a bit over my budget and Quadro 2000m add a little more :( hope to compensate with eyefinity

I plan to do some gpu development, but will do in OpenCL, I'd like to play a bit with lightworks from editshare when they release the Linux version. Dunno if I'll do some editing with premiere but hope in new version they move towards OpenCL standard and leave CUDA, and FirePro will be able to benefit from it.

I dunno if with the source and desteny data in hdd the OS and programs in SSD will improve performance or only in the startup os OS and programs.

Also anyone knows if I get for sure the same capacity/troughtput and dual-channel with 2x4gb + 2x8gb ddr3 1600 as with 4x4gb? besides the more RAM, or with 24gb 1600 config the system goes single channel because can't handle the troughtput?

Actually it is made in NASHVILLE, TN, USA. Positive.
It doesn't matter anyway - soon they will be made in china.

Actually it's made in China according to the label on the case. Shipped over on the Dell 'shuttle' then shipped to the end user from Nashville.

Dell has (or at least used to have) a factory in Nashville - that's why I said it's made in Nashville/TN.
In the end - it doesn't matter anyway. As we know it is just a matter of time.

Does anybody know the specs (model and specs) for the IPS screen from Dell? I can't find anything on the net, yet I am very impressed with the screen.

No it is made in China by either Compal, Wistron, Foxconn or Flextronics. Nashville is just Dell's main warehouse where they keep all North American inventory. Every laptop built for the North American orders are stored and shipped out from Nashville.

The last Dell's that were final assembled in the United States was back in 2004.

Dell was manufacturing Optiplex desktops in NC until at least 2010.
