Precision M4600 Owners Lounge

    I just got my precision m4600 today which i bough from the outlet. I had it shipped to manila where i currently am.

    It looks real good, but.. it wont start up :( I press the power button, the FAN starts then shuts down. I contacted dell support and they told me it might be a motherboard problem. Tech support might arrive next week at my place. Any ideas perhaps i just need to reset something?

    do you have any usb devices connected?
    I experienced a similar behaviour with an xps and when I disconnected the device it would boot up just fine.

    re-seat the memory DIMMS and also try swapping them around including using only one dimm at a time

    Anyone know if a GTX 460m will work in the m4600 ?

    Is that the only drawback of the IPS panel(worse battery life/reliance on the power brick)?

    No, there is also so called IPS glow and some (me for example) experience tint (green/pink colorations visible on white and grey colors) in bottom corners.

    Its working now :)

    i did the ff:
    1. removed the battery
    2. press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds
    3. attach the battery and voila!

    i read this somewhere, probably on the earlier pages of this thread

    what model of ssd ( 256gb size ) use dell in the m4600 ? samsung ?
