Looks like it addresses the sound skipping/touchpad skipping issues.

I came to learn that this "status" can mean that the outlet sample ordered was actually sold to another customer and Dell is waiting for another with similar specs to be returned by a customer for shipment to you. Turns out this is a common practice at Dell; sort of like an airline overselling seats.

On a recent outlet order, the promise date was pushed backed four business days four times, delaying the original promise date by more than three weeks. Each time, Dell sent an email a day before the promise date. Even though Dell sold the unit I purchased to another customer, they charged my CC the instant I placed the order.

Ultimately I sent an email to cancel the order. Magically, a different equivalent unit was delivered the next day. The replacement unit would frequently hard-lock within a few minutes of booting, without provocation. There is no way it would have passed QA testing. It was returned, and might be on its way to you...

    J/k.

Hah, now I see them popping up without a GPU? What's up with that?

If it doesn't show a GPU, it's the FX1800M. For some reason, a few weeks ago, they stopped listing the GPU when it was the FX1800M.

Mine was the same way...the price is usually the dead-away given given the rest of the specs...it'll be a good $150 or so more than a comparatively specced FX880M laptop (still cheaper upgrade than new of course).

The ones I saw were actually lesser priced, turned out they had the 1320 screen. I haven't gotten a straight answer as to whether or not the GPU's are soldered or not. I also can't find any info on the web about where to buy an 1800m or even a price. Anyone know?
EDIT: ouch, only found one vendor for $450 and out of stock.

What I meant was, the price would be more expensive "all things being equal". You look at the pricing enough and you get an idea of what the dollar value is that Dell tacks on for each component.

Yup, delay numero uno this morning. Hope this isn't a trend.

Sent an email this morning as well as called them today and they didn't reply to the email and said they didn't know why it was delayed. Just now there was a dump of about 15 on the outlet and I was frantically trying to find a comparable system to add and turns out they shipped mine today. All is well so far.

Ordered one from the Outlet late Sunday night and received the Dell Order Acknowledgment email right away including the Dell Purchase ID. It's been almost 48 hours, and the order # is still not showing up in the Order Status. Dell reps say they have no record in their system of the Purchase ID yet. Is this normal processing time? I paid via PayPal and the transaction is still "pending"... thanks in advance

New member that just purchased one from the outlet, do you know if these have really bad heat issues? Is there anyway we can control the CPU so it generates less heat? How about the fan settings?
