orion_134 I don't know if they can cancel but you should have no problems getting an RMA. Dell paid the return shipping and credited me back for my defective one in just a few days- no delay for them to inspect it etc.

    Hope you like the m6500!

Ah well, she didn't realize exactly how much money she would be clearing to get the same cpu and ram on the m6500. She quickly changed her mind. So, back to the M4500 which still is going to be a hoss. Estimated ship date of 9/3...hope all goes well. Keeping my eyes open on Ebay for the Hynix ram, but I found some Corsair on tigerdirect for $200 2x4gb 1333mhz pc3 10666. Now time to get back to search button.

Well, instead of starting a new thread (or maybe I should), I'm curious about what to expect about the possibility of a fresh install of Win 7 x64. I've never ran Win 7 and I hear there is a good number of things that I won't need. I was wondering if y'all have any good recommendations as for what is essential or what I can leave out, not the obvious ones, but for example if Dell has a battery management system that is redundant or inferior to Win 7, etc.

Question rapid fire: So I see that the 880m can be upgraded to the 1800m IF the GPU isn't soldered to the MOBO, but I can't seem to find the 1800m for sale anywhere? Is it only available in an oem install?

"In production" for refurbished is a euphemism for "warehouse employee needs to get off break time and go look for it"...
