    seb87: i have almost the same m4500: i7 620m, fx 880m, 2gb ram. my previous laptop was core 2 duo p7350 (2ghz, 3mb, 1066), 4 gb ram and a geforce 9200m gs (256 mb) and i haven't seen a big improvement in the processor, i was expecting a huge difference.
the quadro fx has been much better than my previous graphic card.

no blue screen. freeze: yes, specially in multitasking.
im using adobe cs5 master collection, sony vegas 9.

This system exchange resulted in a new system that I received yesterday.
I asked the tech if I am not supposed to be using it this way, but he said it should be fine. This exchange has the same behavior. They are redirecting the machine to engineering to check out the issue. For now I am leaving the lid open a bit and it is not getting as hot.

Will update when I hear something else...

    Amazing,
Still no official confirmation regarding the screens?

In the presentation they talk about RGB LED with 100% Adobe gamut.

However each and every screen option in the configurator is described as W LED.

I've talked to 3 different sales representatives regarding this and still haven't gotten a definite guarantee or answer with regards to the RGB LED backlight on the FHD screens. It's what's keeping me from ordering.

Has anyone who's recently purchased one confirm that his or her FHD screen indeed has the RGB LED backlight or is is WLED?

Just read the specs. The current screens are WLED. They will list RGB LED once RGB LED is available. Rumor has it that this will happen sometime this month.

Those of you who have having freezing issues...what type of freezing issues are they? Does your machine actually lockup and the only way around it is a hard reset or does it get back to normal?

I've just got my M4500 and done a fresh install with the latest drivers/apps from Dell's site. Problem is - my cursor keeps "sticking". Does not matter if i use the trackpoint or the pad, if you move the cursor around, it moves fine but then slows down and sticks/judders before going back to normal and doing the above loop again.

Going to try another full reinstall maybe after uninstalling the mouse drivers and testing but if it still happens...

my m4500 frezees for 5 to 10 seconds and then get back to normal, the thing is that my previous laptop was an intel core 2 duo(p 7350, 2,0 ghz) with vista 64 and i never experience the freezing.........it's weird, my new i7 620m should be better than core 2 duo by far.
i'm running the bios a01, so i'm thinking to upgrade my bios.....a02 or a03?, do i loose my info whith the bios upgrade?
