I think there is clever circuitry for that nowadays. Notebook isn't constantly trying to recharge the battery, if it reaches full capacity it gets disconnected and that is it (AFAIK). If you are worried about this you can disable battery chargin in bios completely (also with fn+f2 or f3 not sure now)

I use linux and so far it is nearly problem free (Yai :)) Only issue is, it sometimes doesn't wake up (behaves like it was shut down) but I still haven't had time to track this down.

Anyone tried the 12-cell battery yet which only seems to be available if you look for parts for the M4500.

Hello, I will acquire M4500 via my institute, I wanted to ask is there some news about RGB led displays.
Last time when I called our dell representative in April he told me that RGB led HD+ are not available yet. He also told me that there is no exact release date but update with number of new features for M4500 will be in the last week of May and that RGB displays should also appear in that time by 31st of May.
Anyone has some more fresh information about it, to know is it worth to wait for a while or not.

I should be getting my M4500 sometime this week. I ordered it with the 64GB mini-card and am wondering if anyone has had the chance to run it through ATTO Disk Benchmark. I'm curious about the transfer rates from this drive as I plan to use it as my primary disk.

    Thanks in advance!

So? Who cares? I really don't understand why some people feel this compulsion to cut-and-paste a page of sh!t from their shipping list into a post. None of this information is of any interest whatsoever to anybody.
