    I got

    CPU: 7.2
    RAM: 7.5
    Graphics: 6.6
    Gaming Graphics: 6.6
    Hard-Disk: 5.9

on mine, which is almost the same as yours (Core i7 920XM, 8GB DDR3, Nvidia Quadro FX 1800M, 1920x1080 WLED LCD), but I bought my memory from Crucial, and the drive is still the lowly 250GB default drive. Didn't have time to swap in my SSD yet; it's still patiently sitting in its box. ;)

Other impressions: Build quality is so-so compared to my M6400, touchpad acted quite quirky for a while, but maybe that was just the initial setup. Upped the sensitivity a bit, and now it seems acceptable. We'll see, but I don't use the touchpad much anyway. The air coming out of the slots on the left-hand side feels really hot, but the fan remains off most of the time, under low load. Screen is nice (other than the stupid format, but that's been discussed to death elsewhere) and bright as expected, no bad pixels.

I think it'll do o.k. for what I wanted it for, travel and presentations mostly. A lot lighter and less demanding space-wise than the M6400.

I was referring to the 16:9 widescreen format, which is standard for TVs, but not appropriate for many of us doing work on their laptops. No need to cancel: pretty much all manufacturers have gone to this format now...

Agreed. My m6500 fortunately (and my u2410 monitor) is still 16:10, but eventually I'll probably get stuck with that 16:9 (hopefully not on the 17 Precision line).

So the GDDR3 (Precision) vs. GDDR5 (Elitebook) makes absolutly no difference

    I got 7416 Points (SM2: 3005, SM3: 2919, CPU 2993), good to know!

difference may be slight when u consider that he had a 820m and you had 720m core.

also the drivers may not be the same. especially if you use them from your manufacturers....makes all the difference.
the latest drivers from hp from is 189.18 on the nvidia site it is 197.59

well if u pkan on reinstalling the lot, why dont you try the latest drivers before you do so you can see if any difference. OR find out which ones hes using.

Well, I got the 8.16.11.8974 driver. It's dated 16-4-2010 by Nvidia through Dell.

The newest Quadro FX notebook driver I found on the Nvidia website is the Verde Notebook release 197.16, dated March 29, 2010.
