Yes, when I ordered mine (same screen as the one above) it was listed with "Premium Panel Guarantee". Dell will replace this LCD for you. Unless your order did not mention that warranty, just call them back and tell them to replace the screen; this is what you paid for.

Thanks for your help skazarian and Pirx
In DK the "Premium Panel Guarantee" is not available as an option - the screens are listed as:

    - 15.6in High Definition+ (1600 x 900) White Led LCD Panel (Part 230-11337)
    - 15.6in Full High Definition (1920 x 1080) White Led Antiglare LCD Panel (Part 230-11336)

I talked to Dell for the 3rd time and now suddenly the Complete Care covers the screen... So I will get a replacement after all - but apparently you should really consider the complete care if you order from outside US.

Just noticed the description for the screen on my order has been changed to remove the "RGB" reference. It now reads:

    "320-8844 15.6" HD+ (1600 x 900) Wide View Anti-Glare LED Display for M4500"

Ok, time for some system scores. My M4500 has the i7 Q820M with 8Gb Ram and the QFX1800M on Windows 7 64bit. The HDD is the default 320Gb. Screen FHD 1920 x 1080 WLED :

    WEI index

    Proc 7.1

    Ram 7.4

    Graphics 6.6

    Graphics Games 6.6

    HDD 5.9

    CineBench 11.5 64bit

    Open GL 19.36fps
    Ref.Match 99.5%
    CPU 2.97pts
    CPU (single core) 0.97pts
    MP Ratio 3.06x

Splinter Cell Conviction game with FRAPS
Res 1280 x 720 2xMSAA, Medium FX, HDR, ambient occlusion and realtime reflections.

Performance in Deniable Ops is pretty good at about 30fps, but the story campaign averages about 10fps less ( 18fps - 28fps ), but it's still playable. Everyone in the SCC forums is screaming for a performance patch though. It seems the game doesn't support SLi and multicores atm. Overall, it's a fun
stealth/action game with fluid movement and intuitive controls.

Thanks for the test scores. I'm thinking of buying a Precision M4500 but have a few questions that haven't already been answered here.

    * Dell state that the height of the M4500 is:
But after looking at pictures I can't figure this out; it appears to be the same height in the front as in the back. How come that the dimensions at dell.com doesn't seem to correspond to the real thing?

    * The Intel/windows stickers on the palm rest really annoy me. However, some people doesn't seem to have them and I wonder if you think it would be possible to ask Dell to not put them on? I think the stickers destroy an otherwise clean and good-looking design.

    Hi,

mine is in production now... QM820, FX880:D
Does anybody have Linux running on it, esp. Gentoo?
    Is everything supported? Any hints?
Because Nvidia is better supported than Ati in Linux (had a HP Laptop with Ati, very loud), I hope this Laptop is quiet to some extend.
So what about noise emission of this laptop under heavy load (compiling, all Cores 100%)? Is it possible to run this laptop at 100% load /24h?
Does it switch itself off, because of over heating?
My HP does. It was 1900€ machine:mad:

    Thx
    Bronko
