On the following pictures you see the different color between the samsung and the philips display without calibration in a close up.

First one is the philips screen.

I have written somewhere here in this thread about the problematic with the ssd module and wwan. It seems so, that, if you have ordered the M4500 without the wwan module, they dont build the ssd card under the palm rest an connect it via cable to the ENCR slot (Precision Flash ON).

They directly connect the ssd card on the wwan port, so you cant use wwan anymore. Maybe someone can check this who has both modules?

The SSD Card on the picture is not the original dell part for the precision. I put the Dell Mini module for test purposes in the M4500 because Dell has forgotten to build in my module and will send a technican on monday ;)

Uncalibrated, the screen from the M4500 for text is sharper and easier to read. It is not very easy to explain why. I think, the contrast is higher.

On the other hand, the colors from the M4400 are warmer.

I think, because I have used the M4400 nearly 2 years, it leased some time on the screen of the M4500 to use to it.

I have made a foto of a testscreen. It is not easy to see on it, but maybe you see, the colors on the left side from the M4500 are more crisp.
The dark is darker and the screen seems to go al litte to blue/red. The right screen seems to be a little to yellow/green.

So far, I have only found one negative point on the M4500.

Dell has removed the USB power funktion, wenn the Notebook is off.

I often used the funktion on a road trip to load my handy without turning the notebook on.

    regards,
    Dirk

infinus is correct. The data sheet in not correct. The descriptions are wrong. You are getting a WLED display. The RGB displays are not available yet.
