I had the same problem; in my case, the problem went away by re-installing the Nvidia drivers from dell's web site (I had installed the ones from Nvidia's site)

Humm, sounds interesting. I have version: 8.17.12.5922 and says it is from NVIDIA. But, it is the same as on the Dell downloads. ***** I reinstalled and seem to be having fewer problems with the display not waking up.

I know the M6500 has a jog shuttle option for the multi touch track pad. Is there a way of enabling this o the M4500 as a multi touch gesture?

    No. Different touchpad, different drivers.

    Hey guys,
This is a real nuffy sort of a question sorry, but how do I figure out if my M4500 has a webcam installed? The camera seems to be there above the screen, 5x5mm square with a lens in it. There is a mic hole either side of the little camera. Tonight I installed Skype and Skype couldn't recognise a webcam being installed. Perhaps I need a driver for it? Which one? I thought I'd installed them all 5 months ago when I did a clean install of Windows 64 bit Pro and all the drivers which I downloaded from the Dell site.

    Comments appreciated. Thanks, Mike

It sounds like you do have the webcam. Go to device manager and look for Integrated Webcam under Imaging devices. For me, the Dell Webcam central activates the webcam. And when I open skype and go to Tools > Options > Video Settings, it shows video from the webcam and opens up a mini version of Dell Webcam Central.

Hope that helps in some way.

It's the auto light sensor for screen brightness I think, although mine is to the left of the double mic's
