M4500s supplied from Dell with the 64gb Samsung minicard were bootable so I don't see why not.

Dell 310 SSD update: Installed, went in a trick, works straight up, 74.5gb formated size. Benchmark puts it at 250mb/sec read - 50mb/sec faster than my Intel X25, but that might because the latter has a little mielage on it or perhaps it was fighting other drive activity.. FWIW Intel rate both drives @ 200mb/sec but basically this is a full speed drive every bit the equal of a full size X25.

Just remember to make sure your WWAN antennae wires are returned properly (including at the base not just at the tips), otherwise you might spend a minute or so wondering why the case won't shut like I did. ;)

Hi, Hello, please be patient. I need fix problem with the OS and then I will check my Precision with benchmarks (PC mark, cinebench, furmark, 3D marks and so on..) I wanted quiet notebook and I got it :) It was one of my requirements (also it was my decision for dual core cpu with 32nm).

I think, that cooling system is pretty good. If I play video (full HD), install software, web browsing writing documents, the cooler runs at minimum rpm (I almost can not hear him) or never.

Dell has good Power Management with this profiles: High performane, quiet profile, cold profile and another one I think) With this you can affect the cooling noise.

But I don't know about rpm in load. but I'll check it, same with the temperature, but please give me more time :) I need fix my little problem with the OS :) Maybe I will do one more video review, (When I was doing first video, it was 10 minutes after I got the laptop, so in that time, my precision was never started :D

What do you mean with "also why not an full hd screen?"

Do you want to tell about it more? :) and if you have another question, ask me. I will try to answer to you.. :)

The Dell M4500 is super-quiet. The system is well cooled so the fan isn't on often. When the M4500 is under load it will run the fan, but quickly turns off again. I sometimes hear the chirrup of the processor or SSD. The keyboard is also quieter than my old Dell D430 which would run the fan too often and for too long despite a ULV processor.

Ponteral has the Full HD (1920x1080) screen. I got the 1600x900 screen because I thought Full HD was a step too far in 15.6" for my ailing eyes. ;)

I watched the video and found it interesting that the screen case was magnesium. My old D430 had a magnesium case and was cold to the touch. For some reason, the M4500 isn't really cold like that, so I wondered if they just used plastic. In any case, you're right - it's magnesium - I guess they use more paint on the Precision models. :)

thks both for those answers ...the full HD question wase excatly what you have answered ...since then i have always sticked with 17" with 1900*1200 resolution and it was a pleasure but i'm kind of scrared of taking full hd on a 15.6 , of course it's better for productivity but bad for eyes ...i'm asking about the cooling cause this is for pro audio and i'm wondering if i keep a 8540w or go on the dell ....

for the becnhs no need to video just a wprime1.5 and a dpc latency checker (wifi card disabkled, full performance power scheme on) will intersest me !;;)

Thks , and your accent is crazy ;)
