I would guess so. I got mine about 6 months ago as a replacement for a M2300. They never made a good small one again. I believe it might come out at the CES show in January. The chip in question is already appearing on the market so I suspect it will not be long. I need to get another one for our place and I think I will hand off the M4500 and keep the M4600 for myself if it appears superior on power consumption. I would watch out for the M4500 as it seems to run hot to me and burns a lot of juice... not good on plane flight. If I were and could wait, I would wait (IMHO).

    Owners!!

Did anyone try to look for PLL pin number in the mobo to OC the cpu?

Anyone have info if the PLL is supported or not?

Anyone know ANYTHING regarding cpu OC in M4500? I get pretty good temp with 1800M overclocked and I was hoping to get some with my i7 as well.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I think I have a good machine. Mine runs 50 at full idle. So there is room to move it up...

i was hoping anyone could help me with ocing the cpu.. the thing about business machines is that users tend to be less interested with it. i had to find a way to oc my 1800M by myself...

Hello everybody. I am new here and I have found this forum very useful!
I have bought recently a Precision M4500 and in general I am quite satisfied with it. However, after clean reinstall I arrived into the following boot problem. Windows can start only with UEFI boot option, and it should be set to "Windows boot manager". BIOS version is A06 and the only internal HDD is set to AHCI mode. The post time (time before "Starting Windows" appears on the screen) is about 12 sec, which is probably good compared to the reports of more than 20 sec above in this thread.
The problem is with Precision ON Flash. It cannot be boot with this boot option. If I press the corresponding button, the post ends with "no boot media" message. It can be started, however, if the BIOS is set to Legacy boot with Internal NIC as a first option. But in this configuration I cannot start Windows.
Is there a way to fix it? So that there is no need to mess with BIOS all the time when I want to switch between Windows and Precision ON Flash.

the fastest and probably the most accurate answer would be calling Dell. the workstation support is phenomenal.

if u can, do you mind telling me your idle temps for your gpu and cpu? (please state the parts) maybe when stressed as well?? (its good idea to stress both to make sure components are alright once receiving the system)

    Thanks
