WEI with 64GB mSata and NV1800M
Dell RAM seems a little faster than what you installed.

I have an older MS Wireless Presenter 8000 BT mouse which includes a BT adpater which plugs into a USB port. However the BT USB adapter is not required. The mouse works fine with Dell's internal BT adapter although it would be nice to have a bit more range. It has worked with every version of drivers posted on Dell's site, so I doubt it is a driver version issue.

    +1

    Mine always reports 7.4.

Must be cost-reduced lower performance parts eh?

No, I'm not a gamer but thanks for the tip. I'll download a tryout of some game to both old and new laptop and compare performance.

I tried to upload the new driver and during the installation process it had to uninstall the old software, in that process it uninstalled the HDD driver and everything went south. Wouldn't boot because certain system device wasn't found, think it's the HDD because in the BIOS when I was selecting boot from disc, it just said internal... instead of legacy... like it used to. Trying a fresh install again.

Or you could run startup repair? Then it'll just install the needed driver.

How come the FX1800 graphics card uses the GT215 core but has only 72 shaders instead of 96 as the rest of mobile nvidia graphics cards that use this same core? Gpu-z reports 720 millions of transistors so the extra shader units must be there ...

I tried startup repair and it said it couldn't repair because it was missing a device. I just did another fresh install and all is well now...except for more questions: do I need to install the security software to get the fingerprint swiper to work? Is it even worth it?

    Hi all,

After a couple months of research, I purchased an M4500 refurb last week.

I just did my wei for the first time and my processor score seems to be abnormally low for a core i7 720qm (only 5.5)
This is my first windows 7 and core i7 machine (first laptop too). Am I missing something here?

By the way, I had my power setting at the ultra performance one when I ran the test.

Very informative forum and I am glad I found this group.

    Thanks

lol...yes, and no....or it's changed a LOT from the m4400 but i think not. The implementation makes it pretty useless and the whole embassy suite is crappy too.

    hmmmm....usually i sound more positive ;)
