My replacement 7560 order has been confirmed, and is estimated to arrive on 21 September (!!!). Hopefully things speed up, like they have for everyone else here. Final specs:

My estimated delivery date for my 7760 was 17th August. It turned up on 22nd July! Didn't get a notification about until the 21st July.

Working on a coworker's 7560 and I'm having trouble with the PCIe4 slot. We installed a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB. Seems like two thirds of the times that I power on the system, the drive is not detected by the BIOS. I've reseated it like four times. It looks like it's installed properly. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong when installing it or what. Might end up just slapping it into a PCIe3 slot for now...

If you put the one that came with it back in does it work. If so I would assume you are seating it fine.

I just reseated it once more (being careful to stick it as far into the slot as possible and screw it down tight). It worked on the first boot. If it gives me anymore trouble I will put the original drive back in (it is currently in a PCIe3 slot) and see. I think this slot is finicky. I had to try a couple of times on my own 7560 to get it to take the drive there.

Also having trouble with Acronis True Image 2021 bootable media, it doesn't seem to be able to see USB 3 hard drives (either attached via USB-C or right-side USB ports). Got to do an image restore using USB 2. It's going to take a while. (Probably they just need to update this to support Intel's latest USB controller or something.)

Speaking of drives, I intend to reconfigure my drives, and keep the 256 GB drive that came with the system as a spare. I already have two drives, 512 GB and 1 TB WD Black SN720 inside my 7530: these I intend to change to a new Windows and Arch Linux install respectively, and purchase a new 2 TB drive PCIe 3.0 drive for storage (either SN850, or 970 Evo Plus).

I want to re-image and resize the Windows drive before completing the OOBE; any ideas how I might do this?

Acronis True Image can move a Windows install from one drive to another and complete partition sizing operations as needed. I just use the bootable media for this. You don't need to install the actual Windows software.

I think Macrium Reflect has something similar that you can use for free.

You could do a more manual approach from Linux. Use dd to copy one drive to another drive (if it fits, and read up on parameters needed for this to be "fast") and use GParted for partition sizing/moving operations. GParted might refuse to work on NTFS volumes if it thinks there are issues. In that case you can boot a Windows recovery environment and run chkdsk to make it happy.

I was leaning towards this. Thing is, I now need to find a way to backup critical documents and lists of software...

I wonder what can we do with NFC function in a laptop? I have never had it before.
