    Got my 7760. I like it - coming form a 7710.

I ran windows update and let it install the updates. I ran Command Update and the only update was for Command Update and a new bios. For the new bios, I read on the support download page it is recommended to run from command update and also to disable bit locker. It looks like Command Update disables bit locker. If I run from Command Update, is there anything I need to do with Bit locker?

If Command Update does not recommend a Driver, should I still check the Dell Support Download page?

I checked out the bios. Very different than the 7710. Under storage, it has three option for the SATA/NVMe Operation. A clip is below. It does have RAID On as default. On the 7710 I changed to AHCI and think that was a requirement for a Samsung Drive I installed. On the 7x60, is the an advantage of one over the other if I am never running RAID? If I want to switch, is it the same on the 7x60 as @Aaron44126 pointed out earlier in the thread of changing to boot to safe mode, reboot, change, let boot into safemode, and then reboot normal?

What's the sticker on the touch pad for? Looks like it should come off, but I want to make sure. Not sure why they have that there. Second image below.

It came with three versions of Microsoft Office Installed (US, Spanish, and French). I uninstalled all three and installing from my 365 E3 Subscription.

There is also an app called ExpressConnect Drivers & Services by Rivet Networks. Any idea what this is for?

Record your BitLocker recovery key somewhere safe. I keep it in a password manager that I can get to from my phone. The worst that could happen is that you're prompted to enter it after an update is done. (If you are ever continually asked to enter it at each boot, just go and suspend/resume BitLocker and that should be cleared up.) These days Dell does a good job suspending BitLocker before executing a BIOS update so you "shouldn't" have to worry about it.

Regarding Command | Update ... I personally do not keep it installed and I just install drivers manually from the support page. You can set it up to email you when updates are posted.

Switching to ACHI/NVMe — Use exactly the same procedure I described earlier.

I personally would run with RAID off but it's not going to matter that much. You don't have to be in ACHI/NVMe mode for Samsung drives to work, but you will if you want to use the Samsung NVMe driver which may have some performance optimizations. (...In the past you could not upgrade the firmware on Samsung drives while the system was in RAID mode, but I think they fixed that in later versions of Samsung Magician...) In prior systems users have noted that large drives (4/8TB) only work properly with RAID disabled.

Not sure what's up with that sticker but I would take it off personally. It's not in any of the marketing material so I don't think it's supposed to stay there.

Thanks. Should I just manually suspend bit locker to be safe?

Also, should bit locker need to be suspended to change to AHCI?

Which drivers have other people installed/ BIOS options for performance reasons? I did a benchmark on the 7760 and the results were slightly worse than my 7740, despite both having the respective 4000 quadro, and the 7760 having the 11950h whilst the 7740 has the 9750h, literally the same ram sticks and ssd for the test. For drivers, I installed the BIOS, intel wifi, Nvidia RTX, and for BIOS options....I forgot already.

I don't think you need to manually suspend if you have the recovery key available. I haven't suspended for the past several firmware updates on my 7530 and it's been fine. I do believe you will need to manually suspend when switching to AHCI to avoid a prompt for the key. Do the suspend right before you do the Shift+Restart step.
Check Dell Power Manager and see what you have the "thermal mode" set to. You'll want "ultra performance" for best performance (at the expense of noise and surface temperature).

Anyone Else have a Sticker on their Track Pad? That thing is on pretty good and seems permanent.

And has anyone switched to AHCI from RAID yet?

I was looking at task manager whilst testing, and I noticed that the CPU never went above 2.6GHz, turbo was disabled. It is now performing as expected.

    Mine didn't come with one.

    Thanks. Did you get

Palmrest Fingerprint Reader, Smart card Reader, & NFC

I guess the NFC is under the touch pad.

I wonder if that sticker was supposed to be on the side.

    Anyone else?

FedEx finally updated, my 7560 will be in the office on Monday. Hopefully I can get the IT department to release it to me quickly...

Mine had the sticker as well...I removed it. Everything is working fine...with the touchpad anyway.
