I have an 18000mAh Dell Power Companion somewhere that is a couple of years old. I'll give it a shot with my 7530 and let you know if it works. It came with 2 barrel connectors, 1 large and 1 small. I just need to dig it out of my "ordered chaos" of an office...

    Thanks!
I'm going to decide tomorrow (Friday) on going the 7720 or 7730 route.

    Hi Guys!

Can anyone comment on overall experience using the new Precision 7530 with Solidworks and Visualize rendering?

Comments such as “wish I’d had, don’t care for, in hindsight should’ve went for”

    Looking at i9, 32g and P3200

    Thanks in advance!

    Alex

My replacement docking stations perform better than the original ones, but they still show the same quirks (USB stutter that gets fixed by disabling c-states, the power delivery occasionally not working). I had a bit of fresh hope with these driver updates, but minutes in I already experienced the same issues.

I've asked Support for additional suggestions.

Where did you get these? I don't see them on the Dell support site...

I was initially hopeful but the dock firmware update has not resolved my power delivery problem either... Sometimes (I'd even say "usually") when I plug the dock in, all of the data connections will work but the system will remain on battery power. I was going to complain to Dell for a new dock today, but I see from @Regular_Ragnor above that his replacement dock(s) are still showing this problem, so I don't really see the point...

Still, you should complain. More complaints mean more pressure on Dell to fix it.

Oh, they also added new drivers for the laptop, huh? I'll give those a try as well then.
    EDIT: New drivers, old behaviour.

Ah, the continuing USB and power issues are not giving me confidence about going the 7730 route.
My choice is a high end 7720 and use my e-port dock or a middle of the road 7730 and hope that Dell gets their act together sometime soon. Unfortunately my M6700 that I'm using at the moment is quickly going downhill . . . .

Thanks for all the comments and updates.
