Just completed my 7730 order with Dell. Was able to get about %15 off the web site listed price by negotiating with the sales guy. Core i9-8950HK, P3200, 64Gb Memory, 256 Gb nvme, 9260 WiFi, Backlit Keyboard, FIPS reader, 6 cell battery, UHD IGZO display, 3 years pro support plus and 2 day shipping for $3800 + taxes. I will add 3 x 970 Pro 1TB and 1 x 970 EVO 2TB. I'll let you know how it is when it arrives.

Thanks for all the info and help!

No problem to order with one drive and activate RAID later. VMware Workstation works fine, you may have to enable the Intel virtualization support in the BIOS, I don't remember if it defaulted on or not.

Alllrighty, my own Precision 7530 arrived this afternoon, a couple of hours ago. First impressions: wow, this is one sexy, suave machine. I installed my WD Black 1 TB drive in it, and booted up to Windows. While typing this, I realised that the keyboard is a little softer than I would've liked it to be—guess it'll take some muscle meory retraining to get used to this new keyboard. The sound of the keyboard itself could be nicer, too, as I typed on a HP Zbook Studio a couple days ago, and the feeling was... orgasmic, to say the least.

First Windows impressions: wow, there is a helluva lot of bloatware on this computer. I want to clean-install Windows, and see if I can get Arch to run on this as well.

    What bloatware did you see?

Huh, bloatware on mine was quite reasonable. You sure you aren't referring to the bloat that comes with windows itself?

Well, both. There's a lot of Dell stuff that I'm not sure I'll need, and will likely take up extra processing cycles and power while idle.

Literally the most sour part of using this machine is Windows itself. The notebook is beautiful and powerful (but I'm itching to find a way to unlock the GPU—it is around 30% too slow for the cores it has).

Had a block of time available to install and troubleshoot in case of any problems with BIOS 1.3.7.

Turns out I was worried for no reason, install went smooth, black screen before reboot was a little longer than normal but as the other user said, Task Manager now reports my 64GB G.Skill RAM at the correct 3200 MHz!

EDIT: Apologies for the enormous screenshot attached o_O
