I have exactly the same problem. intel RST can only see 3 of them. Better check with Dell tech support.

Thank you for putting so much effort into this. Your post gave me some much needed confidence. I am about to make the decision now.

Thank you all. What an amazing thread this is.

    - HDMI + DP for two external displays (2560x1440 + 1920x1200)

New motherboard ... checking the docked keyboard and mouse...

Just checked the BIOS version: 1.0.5...

Hmm will keep it a while and see how the system behaves as I was not able to downgrade from 1.2.5 to 1.1.7 on my first mother board

Yes, I just checked with them. They will be replacing my motherboard as the M.2 slot near the RAM is not visible in RAID configuration.

    Keyboard/mouse attached to USB hub
    USB DVD+/-RW drive

That's it. Granted, the gigabit Ethernet and audio controller are also internally attached USB devices in the dock and I am using both of those. But, I don't think that's very much stuff attached and I always get the I/O stuttering with both the keyboard and mouse. I plugged the hub directly into my system and the issue is gone. I'll try it on the dock again whenever they release a firmware or driver update that seems like it has a chance of fixing the problem.

Interesting that you have already a new MB and I am still waiting for mail response. Currently it takes ~3 days until DELL answers.

Did you try to remove all HF sources which are near the dock?

I'm using it as delivered. Have not seen the USB issues at all. I goofed around with some bios settings trying to figure out what was going on with the throttling issues, but ended up restoring it to factory settings, and then the throttling issues went away.

    USB attachments for my setup:
XQD/SD Card Reader on rear USB
USB cable to monitor USB Hub (where my mouse/kb are attached to monitor usb ports)
Also using the Ethernet, which is a usb device
