Maybe they changed the rules, rather sure it was blocking this configuration back around launch.

Could you do looping Cinebench R15 runs of both the single- and multi-thread tests as well, preferably with before/after undervolt results?

    Thanks very much.

Regarding the 2.5" slot. All of these laptops are the same regarding drive connectors on the motherboard, the thing with the battery is, the 6-cell battery uses the same physical space that a 2.5" drive would go in. To install a 2.5" drive, in addition to the smaller battery, you need a mounting bracket and an interposer to attach the drive to the motherboard. I believe that these parts will only be provided if you actually order the system with a 2.5" drive.

Also, the 2.5" drive uses the same space as one of the M.2 drives, so you would only be able to install three M.2 drives. (Pretty sure it uses the same connector as well, remember that M.2 in these systems can use either NVMe or SATA, so with an adapter you can connect any SATA drive.)

Dell77306CellBattery.jpg Dell77304CellBattery.jpg I expect you are right, Aaron. I have ordered it with the 6-cell but I have asked Dell for a clarification as it was only when looking at these images from the manual I realised I may have been able to get a 2.5" in there as well. I will post back what they say.

    Got my 7730 yesterday:
    - i9
    - P3200
    - UHD display
    - Win 10 Pro
    upgraded with:
    - G.Skill 3200 32GB
    - 970 Evo 1TB
    works great as standalone machine.

Ordered also TB18 dock and have the following issues:
    - Mouse connected to TB18:
Mouse hangs sporadic for a few seconds. You can hear the typical windows sound when a device disconnects but didn´t see 'which' device. Seems that distance to wireless router has impact.
    - Two monitors (Eizo EV2335W) connected to TB18 (display port + mini display port):
Monitors wakeup from power save mode during start / after standby. Screen keeps black and you can see only an '_' running from top to bottom. When you switch off / on both monitors they work as expected.
    - Got also sporadic the 130(?) W power warning during start which was already reported in a previous post.
I also reinstalled windows with newest drivers und updated thunderbolt fw and bios to newest version but without luck.

Any hints to solve the dock issues ?

I also get a sporadic mouse when it is connected to the TB18 dock. Keyboard, too. (It will sometimes lose keystrokes, or even worse, miss "key up" events resulting in a key appearing to be held down / repeated characters.) I do not get the USB device disconnect sound.

I have a co-worker with an identical setup and he gets the I/O stuttering issues too. As a workaround, we have moved the keyboard and mouse to a USB hub and attached it directly to the system. I haven't complained to Dell, I was hoping that an early firmware or driver update would solve this (how could they not be getting complaints), but maybe it needs to be escalated...

Aside from the power issue which you also mentioned, I haven't had any issues with the dock. Ethernet, audio, and display (including display sleep/wake) seem to work fine for me. I do have all Dell displays.

Good to hear that I am not alone with these dock issues. Regarding my monitor issue: Seems that the monitor is totally confused after standby because the onscreen display does not work. Strange. They worked well with previous M6600 without any problems.

I noticed that speaker volume on 7730 is much much quieter than on my old 6800 when I set the volume to 100%.
Any pointers on what I can check or is it just that new hardware is different?

Try use Dell Maxx audio app. It should be inside Dell folder in start menu
