Hm, maybe something else is borked on your device ? Because you have strange issues lately.... C-states shouldn't prevent a update to install or create such issues. Except you have done some heavy undervolting that creates such side effects...

Yes, could be related to undervolting. I used -0,130v with XTU without problems for several weeks and lowered it to -0,115v yesterday after I got Windows and XTU starting again :)

I contacted Dell support to check if they are aware of other systems where Fn+up/down fails with BIOS 1.11.0 installed. Maybe this does only show on systems without dGPU. Otherwise: getting closer to reinstall Windows from scratch...

Just got a call from Dell: they could reproduce the Fn+up/down problem with BIOS 1.11.0 on a 7730 and have informed the engineering team. Waiting for 1.11.1...

Is anyone else facing highly uneven core temperatures under load? I might need to repaste this. One core is at 80 degrees C, another is at 87 and the other four are all above 94 degrees C...

Hm, I haven't repaste it but I also have uneven temps on the cores. It highly depends on what is running and how well it works with multi core environments. Sadly I have sometimes the feeling that even windows itself is still not very well optimized for multi core systems in some circumstances...

I have noticed this in many laptops. I've stopped worrying about it... I think it partly depends on where the cores are physically and what else near them is active?

Windows 10 1909 (releasing soon) has some new scheduling code to promote processes running on "favored cores". I wonder if this will actually help performance at all. Not sure if any of the CPUs in this system support Turbo Boost 3.0.

I normally put my laptop to sleep by closing the lid. I just now opened the lid and there is a burn-in of the browser title bar in the upper right of the screen. I'm guessing that for whatever reason when I closed the lid last time it didn't put the laptop to sleep and caused the burn-in. Ugh.

I do have Pro Support with the premium panel guarantee but I'm guessing this isn't covered. I'm hoping I wouldn't be responsible for the repair costs as the issue isn't a result of anything that I did. Any suggestions on how to approach this with Dell support?

An LCD shouldn't have permanent burn-in. If you actually sleep it for a while, or just put something else on the screen for a while, does it go away?

It's been sleeping for a couple of hours now and the burn-in is still there:

It also flickers which you can see in this video:

Might be a problem with the display itself, or the display cable. If you have ProSupport, simply call in, tell the customer service representative your issue, and they should send out a replacement display + cable the next day, provided stocks are available.
