Well, I can tell you that's what shows up for my 7730. WTH?

That's really disappointing. I hope you find an acceptable resolution.

I thought I had posted it a few weeks ago. Let me know where you'd like me to check and I will.

    New BIOS today, 1.7.0.

    Fixes:
    - Fixes the issue where the LED on Dell TB18 dock cable turns off, when BIOS is updated with the dock that is connected to the system.
    - Fixes the issue where the LED on Dell TB18 dock cable does not turn on intermittently, when it is connected to the system.

    Enhancements:
    - Updated Embedded Controller Engine Firmware.

    https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=YMW5F

This BIOS update contains the fix for the "dock power issue" — after installing, you can go to the BIOS and enable "USB powershare" and everything should still be working fine. I had the opportunity to beta test this update and the fix has been working fine on my system for over a week.

With this, I believe that the dock issues have been resolved; though a bit sad that it took them almost 9 months, at least they gave the issues the attention needed...

The sad thing for me is that the dock firmware update is available as a windows executable. I hope it will eventually become available for linux through fwupd.

I just installed it. But it's soon to say if that solves the issues that I've been having.

Do you use DCU to ensure that the TB18 firmware is up to date as well? When I run it a get a "Warning: A problem occurred while checking for updates. The operation was aborted. See the activity log for specific failure details." The activity log just shows "application error.".

I've never used Dell Command Update. I don't think that it has the latest updates right away, anyway. If you want to confirm that the dock firmware is up to date, download the latest firmware package for it and run it, and it will tell you. Also note there is a conflict between the Intel GPU drivers and the dock firmware updater (for some reason...); if you have trouble installing a dock firmware update you may need to temporarily disable graphics switching in the BIOS.

To @Aaron44126: Hi !, In one of your previous posts you said you have 7530 with i7-8850h

Could it be possible for you to check using throttlestop if you see settings like this:

    https://linustechtips.com/main/uploads/monthly_2018_12/TS.PNG.953a872605ea2ee24c1e9a200899e369.PNG ?

I'm interested in 7730-xxn03 model who has this cpu and was looking for info about the possibility to change turbo limits (as stated on first post of this thread 7530 bios is the same as 7730) and if so what frequency beyond stock 4.3 GHz 1core turbo boost is able to reach (and maybe sustain) under stress test (aida64 for instance).

I really hope you can help me.

I'll see if I can check this out but I am going to be away from the office (where my 7530 is currently) until Monday.
