Hello, Dell does not allow to configure Xeon E-2176M with Windows 10 Pro, they say that it must go with Windows 10 Pro for Workstation that is pretty much more expensive, could anybody tell me that i can choose ubuntu and then install 10 Pro later to save money : ( still have a few OEM key for 10 Pro
    Thanks much!

Yes, definitely. Only thing is that Ubuntu means you don't get the fingerprint reader, if you wanted it.

Yeah, there's no real reason for this requirement. Almost all of the extra features in Pro for Workstations require hardware that is not present in the 7530/7730. They're probably bound by the OEM agreement with Microsoft to "require" Windows 10 Pro for Workstations for systems containing a Xeon (desktop or laptop). When the Xeon first showed up in the 7710, before Windows 10 Pro for Workstations was a thing, they offered it with regular Windows 10 Pro.

I am unable to charge my Precision 7730 through USB C. I am not using a Dell dock, I picked up a Insignia Type-C 90W charger.

When I plug in the charger, Dell Power Manager shows an alert that this charger is not compatible because it doesn't meet the required minimum specifications of 90W.

Has anyone been able to charge using USB C? Which charger did you use?

Have you tried it with the system asleep or powered off? That would likely be required to charge if the system does not think that you have a 90W charger. (You can tell it is charging if the light on the front/right turns on.) Not sure on the terminology for these chargers. It's possible that it draws 90W from the wall and outputs less (due to AC/DC conversion loss).

I received a new Precision 7530 with a 256 M.2 drive that I am immediately replacing with a Samsung 970 Pro 1 TB. This machine also has an i9 and a P3200. I had ordered the W10 USB key from Dell. I called Dell ProSupport and he wanted to walk me through this. No problem. But he sounded a bit inexperienced. He did not know what the Samsung 970 Pro was so he looked this up and he sounded like it should work. :-/
He had me set the BIOS settings with Raid mode checked and with Enable Legacy Option Roms checked. I told him that I was surprised by these settings because I recently replaced my Samsung SM951 with a Samsung 960 Pro and I told him that to swap between these drives I had to uncheck the Enable Legacy Option Roms and set the SATA operation to Disabled. He said that we would try this first.
After not getting Windows to install he had me do diagnostics and we got an error that was related to the battery. I wonder if I did not hook it up completely - if I didn't plug the wiring harness all the way in. (I actually disconnected it directly from the battery as opposed to what the manual shows in disconnecting it from the system, but I'd imagine that makes no difference whatsoever.)
I talked him into letting me change to uncheck the Enable Legacy Option Roms but he wanted to change the Raid On to be AHCI rather than Disabled.

Now we have been able to install Windows, but should the AHCI be unchecked and Disabled be checked?
And am I correct that Enable Legacy Option Roms needs to be unchecked for this drive?
I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to take advantage of the performance of this drive.

On a somewhat unrelated matter, I also just received a Precision 5530 with an i7 8850 with P2000 from the Dell Outlet and was wondering if there is a Precision 5530 thread similar to this one with tips and tricks. I've learned a lot from this thread but it is almost all related to Precision 7530 and 7730 of course.

Set the SATA operation to AHCI (in other words, NVMHCI) so that you don't use the Intel RST Controller for the drives. If you want to clone the built-in install, then you will have set the SATA operation to RAID, as that's what Dell installs Windows with. It is difficult to change SATA controller mode with Windows installed. As for Legacy Option ROMs, you can leave the default behaviour; there's no need to touch that option at all.

You might visit the XPS thread; the Precision 5530 and XPS 15 have similar hardware.

This guy seems to just not be super experienced with this system.
    * If you set RAID on, you will have to load the Intel Rapid Storage "F6 floppy" drivers during Windows setup or you will not be able to see the drive to install onto. Sounds like you went on a wild goose chase because of this. (This is bypassed by choosing AHCI, which is totally fine to use if you don't need the RAID feature.)
    * To turn Legacy Option ROMs on, you must disable both UEFI and Secure Boot, both of which you would want to have enabled for modern systems. (You can't easily switch from legacy boot to UEFI boot after Windows is installed either.) If you haven't done much work, I would recommend switching legacy option ROMs off, UEFI and secure boot on, and installing Windows again.
