I left my 7730 running overnight while doing a data backup. When I had a look this morning, one of my external monitors running on a TB18DC dock wasn't receiving a signal.

When I rebooted the computer, I got this message: "Multiple docking stations are not simultaneously supported. Disconnect additional docking stations." That's an odd message, considering I only have a single docking station. I powered off the dock, and rebooted again and I'm back in business.

Anyone seen this before? Could it be indicative of something going flakey?

We've had this a couple of times. (Three 7530's with TB18DC's in the office.) Just unplug/replug and try again, should be good. I'd consider this a minor issue compared to other things we've had with the docks...

The dock has been pretty good for me so far. The only annoyance I've run into is a USB 3 memory card reader I have plugged into the dock doesn't seem to stay alive. Every time I use it, I have to unplug it and plug it back in for the memory card to be recognized. I haven't had time to troubleshoot that.

I didn't document them, but I tried many permutations of driver installations. Some of those included the iGPU being enabled. I have replaced my screen a few times so it very well could be a hardware quirk.

So, it appears @Coolane has updated his TDP Tweaker tool for Coffee Lake notebook VBIOSes, link here. Does anyone want to risk their Precision being bricked?

    I have a 7730 with 2x970 Pro 1TB and 2x970 Evo 2TB.

My plan was to create a RAID1 boot disk with the 2x970 Pro and a RAID1 data disk with the 2x970 Evo using the Intel RST

All 4 NVMe disks are working fine, and are visible to the OS in device manager.

My problem is that only 3 of the 4 drives are visible to the Intel RST software running under Windows 10 for Workstations, and also to the Intel RST RAID BIOS before OS boot. This means I can create a RAID1 drive with the 2x2TB, or if I remove a 2TB, create a RAID1 with the 2x1TB. It doesnt seem to matter which NVMe slots are populated if only 3 are in use, I can access all 3 disks in the Intel RST BIOS, but if all 4 slots are in use, only 3 disks appear to Intel RST. When the OS boots, the 4th disk is visible and working just fine.

    Hmmmm.

Has anyone else got 4 NVMe disks?
Would you install the Intel RST drivers and manager and let me know if Intel RST can see all your disks please?

    Thanks!

[FWIW, I know I can create a software RAID1, but it would be nice to figure this out anyhow]

This is a known issue, AFAIK everyone who has tried four drives has run into this problem. I haven't seen a workaround. (Someone who has the issue should call Dell and kick off the process for resolution... Probably will take a while, but if the problem is easy to reproduce there is a good chance that they'll take action.)

Thanks, I see what the problem is now, our friends at Dell have started accidentally (or not) posting NVIDIA Quadro Standard drivers on support when before they were DCH drivers. So you get this message because you cannot install standard over dch or vice versa. Hello, Dell, are you with us....

So downloading the latest DCH drivers from your link works, thanks again.
