Question: I'm interested in which m.2 drives can I install in 7530 workstation because there is NVMe and SSD but I'm not sure which is supported.

Any NVMe or SATA M.2 drive will work as long as it is 2280 form factor (80mm long).

Received my 7530 (Xeon 2186m, P2000, 32Gb) and the TB18DC yesterday. Installed windows 10 pro and everything works fine.

Only the docking isn't working correct. Two problems:
    • USB problems. But after update of the firmware it seems resolved (otherwise I'm going to change my BIOS settings)
    • HDMI port problem. I got two 4K monitors. Left monitor is connected to the DP port of the TB18DC. No problems. But my Right monitor is connected to the HDMI. The color of the right monitor is not good and the cursor of the mouse doesn't move as good as the other screen. It does not feel smooth. This problem is solved when the connected direct to the 7530 instead of the TB18DC.

Picture (when hdmi of right screen is set to HDMI of TB18DC):

Is this also a known issue of the TB18DC or this one new dockingstation need a repair / change?

Did you check the refresh rate of the HDMI-attached monitor? It may have dropped to 30 Hz instead of 60 Hz which would make it feel stuttery. You need HDMI 2.0 on both ends (dock and panel) to get 60 Hz 4K. I'm not sure if the dock supports HDMI 2.0, I kind of suspect that it doesn't. (The dock may be "new" but aside from the double-Thunderbolt connector, its capabilities/specs are the same as the original TB15 dock, three years old.)

The dock has two DisplayPorts, one regular and one mini; get the appropriate cable/adapter and you should be able to plug both monitors into the dock using DisplayPort, which would be the optimal way to go.

One more question, what is the light on the front lip of the laptop for/when is it supposed to be on? Mine comes on when I start the laptop but then it goes off and never comes back on.

This is the battery light and it behaves like the battery light has done on previous Dell systems. It lights up when the system is charging the battery and it might blink orange if the system is running very low on battery power.

That's strange IMO. Would have been really nice to be able to configure it in the BIOS to be an HDD activity light or something.

    Thanks.

Now I need to look for a DP mini to HDMI with 60hz. Because the DP ports on my LG monitors are occupied

I'm interested in using a external 4K monitor do I need to have a 4K panel on 7530 with P1000?
Is the external monitor like having a second display or display what on the notebook display?

    Thanks

You can configure it to work either way. Press Win+P to switch modes. Your displays do not have to be the same resolution (but I think it works out better if they are, when it comes to moving things between the two of them).
