I assume it is dual channel in these machines so only 2 DIMM slots need to be filled? Do I need to fill one on the back, one on the front or just 2 slots in the same area?

Dual-channel, yes, but four RAM slots, for up to 128 GB.

Hello. I recently bought precision 7530 with UltraSharp FHD panel. I noticed backlight bleeding on left bottom corner. Is it normal for this panel or i should contact customer service for panel replacement?

Definitely call for a panel or bezel replacement. It's an issue unfortunately common on notebooks with IPS displays because of the bezel pressure, but fortunately a relatively quick fix.

I’m planning to change my current desktop configuration with a Dell Precision 7530. By reading this thread, I noticed people had some issues with the TB18DC dock. Have they been solved?

I’m not very confident of this new TB3 docking system because of a really bad experience with a previous Dell Latitude 7480 and a TB16 dock. I encountered continuously disconnections of all devices, including the screens, and the only way was to reboot. Dell took several months to provide the updates fixing the issues.

Does someone have a 7530/7730 with a TB18DC dock and can give me an feedback? thanks

Hi all, has anyone seen this before? I've just had this exact issue with two (!) completely identical Precision 7730 machines right out of the box - the same day of arrival.

After waking up from a "display off" state (display turned off due to inactivity, or hibernate) the screen flickers badly and displays the lines shown below and at https://imgur.com/a/26IsdVe. These artifacts and flickering are present in POST, in the BIOS menu, in Windows, and in Linux.

I've owned two Precisions before, an M-something and a 7510 and loved them. I just can't believe this. Has anyone seen this problem before and know what it is? I don't trust Dell to replace or return a working system so are there any other options for a 128GB RAM, 17" laptop?

No problems since I disabled C states in BIOS. Enabling them gave me problems with keyboard and mouse connected to TB18 usb ports.

You have to disable C-states in the BIOS to fix a USB stuttering issue (potential minor impact to battery life) and disable USB powershare in the BIOS to fix an issue with the dock not powering the system. Dell is working on proper fixes to both of these issues (though progress has not been quick). With these BIOS changes, I don't have any further outstanding issues with my dock setup.

Activate ProSupport, and get them to change out your display and display cable.

Dell's QC on these machines is truly horrible.
