Correct me, if I am wrong. Your said your laptop booted normally after 2-3 second delay. If that means your laptop works 100% fine except boot delay, your complain is extremely silly.

I believe the symptom is that when the power button is pressed, the system attempts to boot but powers off after 2-3 seconds, and then successfully boots on a second attempt.

This is exactly what I told and actually that means just a boot delay.

It happens with my Precision 7510 units after UEFI update or significant UEFI settings changes. I think Artyom82 has a wrong UEFI settings or faulty UEFI battery. Still, 2-3 second boot delay is a idiotic reason to replace whole motherboard.

"When I drive off with my car, the engine stops after 2-3 seconds and then restarts."

Wouldn't you visit your car dealer and complain?

If Dell Pro Support isn't able to diagnose and fix this problem, either remote or on-site, then they should replace the motherboard.

BTW, please show some respect to other posters, whether you agree with them or not. The way you've been reacting in this and other threads, one might start to think that this motherboard replacement is coming out of your pocket...

In that case, the engine does not stop when you drive, it just starts 2-3 seconds longer than should.

You have very good point. In some way, not directly of course, the unnecessary motherboard replacements are coming our from my own pocket and pocket of my company. Dell has a best mobile workstations in the world (far better than Lenovo or HP), but very poor support. They have problems to diagnose some issues correctly and spend a lot of money on unnecessary replacements which makes their products far more expensive. It also can cause Dell withdrawing from some parts of the mobile market like they did with mobile phone and tablet phones.

I and my business rely on Dell products, so I need them to keep going and believe me that motherboard replacements are very expensive and often unnecessary.

For me, dxdiag is reporting eight CPUs. The CPU actually just has four cores. Hyperthreading adds two threads per core, so most software will report eight cores.

In Task Manager, "Performance" tab, you can right-click on the CPU graph and select "Change graph to -> Logical processors" from the menu. You should see eight individual graphs if you have hyperthreading enabled. If you are only seeing four, check the BIOS setup and see if you have maybe turned hyperthreading off by accident.

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem of sound driver in my laptop 7510. Since 3 months, the speakers do not work. I tested the sound hardware in BIOS, it worked well. I think it is a problem of sound driver. I tried to uninstall the existing sound driver and install the latest driver from Dell. It doesn't work. I tried also troubleshot sound problems by Windows, it shows me an error "Audio services is not responding" (image attached). In the device manager table, I have the "Intell Display Audio" driver for the sound (image attached).

Maybe someone has the same problem? Or any ideas for my problem?

The "Intel Display Audio" is for audio output via HDMI/DisplayPort only. You should have another audio device, the speakers are driven by a "Realtek" audio chip. It will show in device manager as "Realtek Audio" or "High Definition Audio Device" depending on which driver you have loaded (Realtek's or Microsoft's).

The images appear to be broken so I can't see what you posted there. But it does seems like you have a Windows or driver problem, rather than a hardware issue.

I would like to share my disappointing story when I had to deal with Dell's Technical support.

I have bought my 7510 without a WWAN card, which I have obtained separately. After some time I have noticed that I receive scrambled text messages when they are not physically sent from a mobile phone but from mobile service or any other service provider. I have tried reinstalling OS, I have updated drivers to the latest available, but nothing really helped. I must say in front that I can send text messages to my mobile phone and receive text messages from mobile phones correctly, I can connect to the mobile broadband and that GPS functionality of my WWAN card works just fine. If I use the same SIM card in a mobile phone or in my other non-Dell computer I have no issues receiving those text messages from service providers. Based on all these facts I was (and I still am) convinced that it is a software, not a hardware issue of the Skylight (the program that comes with WWAN drivers).

I have asked for help with my problem in the official Dell support forum, but received no response. I have tried contacting Dell Live Chat support, but was refused any help as I am not physically located in the UK (computer was originally bought in the UK). I have contacted local Dell Service, but they did not offer any help. In the end, I have called Dell Support (apparently, an Indian call center) and explained my issue, they have remotely connected to my computer and examined User Options window of the Skylight with a hope to find a setting that would have any relevance to my problem. They did conclude that mobile service center number used in Skylight is incorrect and that I have to ask my service provider to change it. They have ignored the fact that I was able to receive text messages (from mobile phones) and send text messages myself, but to be absolutely certain, I have contacted my mobile service provider and I was assured that number is correct. I have reported my findings back to the technical assistant that was dealing with my case; they have remotely connected to my computer one more time, they did try changing a few settings but nothing helped. After a few days I have received an email saying that no further technical support will be offered based on the fact that WWAN card was not originally installed in my computer when I bought it and that they believe that my WWAN card is physically damaged (once again they have ignored the fact that all other functionality of it is working fine). They did not do any live debugging tests or log examinations, so it looks like they chose the easiest route – that is to blame the hardware. By the way, I have also contacted Dell representative that visits this forum, unfortunately, (s)he is not an active member lately.

I have considered buying one more WWAN card. I am more than certain that it will behave just like the one I have and I will not be able to return it and get a refund. I was explained that I will not get free technical support with my new card and I will have to deal with Dell’s Software Support team and pay for it, but based on my previous experience I do not expect to get any tangible help.

Long story short, I am very disappointed with Dell’s Technical support. When you pay top dollar you generally expect to receive good service.
