I gave my CC# to a rep on phone. Even if you use a secure server you're still vulnerable to key-logging and such....

Thought I would signup as been trying to get help.
Just received my Dell 7510 earlier this week. It is certainly fast and can handle 10 times my previous laptops however I paid for:
    I7 Processor,
    64gb Ram
    4gb Nvidia Graphics
    1 x 256SSD for booth/OS
    1 x 1TB for Storage.

Not called Dell yet as I have not had the time and I am not a fan of speaking to people who seem to be reading off cue cards.
If I use the 1TB hdd a lot and then go pause what I am doing move to another location. I.e. close the lid and then just open it again the 1tb hdd disappears.
Have to reboot to get it back.
    Anyone come across this.

    Thanks
    Manctech

Hi, I ordered the Precision 7510 a few days ago. I tried another laptop (Dell Inspiron 7559) with the speakers not facing up. It sound loud but muddy when laying down on the desk. When I turn the laptop upside down, I can then hear the treble (high).

How are the clarity and quality of the speakers in Precision 7510 (high, mid, and low)? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

I currently have an old XPS15 L502x with JBL 2.1 speakers with a small subwoofer and it still sound amazing with very good high, full range mids, and warm and punchy bass. The two speakers on next to the keyboard, facing up and the subwoofer is a the bottom, facing downward.

Can you let me know of your opinion? and if you can record any music played from the precision from any recording device (i know each recorder and sound quite difference) and upload it, that will be very appreciated.

I didn't expect too much, but I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I don't find them muddy at all. I use the MaxxSense setting. Almost feels like the sound is eminating from the screen. Decent bass but not as full as the dedicated sub in the wife's ASUS. I'll try to post something up in between the two holidays. I also use Cakewalk Sonar, but debating whether I want to install it in thus system being I have all my files on my M6500.

I will say some settings in Waves Maxx sound meh to me, but I didn't test them in the context intended.

to all those concerned about the keyboard layout, i would say buy a thinkpad. if your looking for the most raw power per dollar, precision rules all... could someone who has received a 7510 comment on the build quality? does it feel sturdy? how is the hinge? does the weight make it feel substantial, or does it feel like a tin can like the new xps line?

Thanks for your prompt response! I also use Cakewalk SONAR as my DAW. As long it doesn't sound muddy, then I'll be happy with it. I'll find out in a few week. Thanks!

If you start picking apart posts line by line, then it's time to just call it a day. I decided against leaving the back-and-forth posts, so they've been deleted.

I think the build quality is excellent. All the seams look tight and even. The screen lifts with one hand, and it's rigid enough to lift from either side with very minimal twist. The hinge looks very solid and the screen stays put, and folds all the way 180 degrees if you need to. I like the carbon fiber lid and soft touch palm rests, and the aluminum sides with the diamond cut bevel looks sharp. The battery panel and access panel are well machined and fit like a glove. I've only added a SSD and M.2 SSD and access was easy. All in all I'm very happy. I like the aesthetic, and judging by the tear down instructions in the manual should be easy to service or upgrade.

The weight is not superfluous, but a function of the build and materials. It's more solid than my M6500, and no sharp corners to feel. I like the keyboard, though chicken styke, seems pretty responsive, and I am a relatively strong typer (learned on an Underwood mechanical typewriter with like 3/4" or so of stiff travel, play piano and guitar); quiet enough to not be a distraction but a nice muted satisfying sound at the end of travel. Took 5 minutes to adjust, now I prefer it to the M6500.
