    It's called SST in HWinfo.
Here's a good test that shows why it matters.
    https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Proce...sted-Significant-User-Experience-Improvements
It's not for sustained heavy loads, it's for shorty bursty stuff like web page rendering. Basically a better version of hurry and finish. It takes about 50ms of latency away when ramping up the CPU Frequency.

The latest version of Throttlestop always you to turn on SST (once on it stays on until a reboot).

I was successful in enabling it with Throttlestop. Once enabled you quit Throttlestop and it sticks till a power cycle.

I think the SST option could be a windows 7/10 issue. I think I saw it red in Windows 7 and green in Windows 10.

I got the 7510 mainly for heavy duty photo editing purposes in mind and it has done wonders in improving my workflow....but I did spec it with the higher end GPU more for gaming purposes :D

It feels blasphemous saying this for a "work" laptop but yes, the Dell 7510 does run Crysis 3 well :)

I was a bit surprised when I turned my computer on today and it automatically started updating multiple (?) BIOSes.
I do have BIOS recovery from disk turned on so that's good to know I can undo it if it starts glitching, but I'm not sure I'm so keen on automatically doing it at power on.

My 7510 has been pretty good for the most part.
I've been having some wifi connectivity issues, it seems to hang sometimes and/or disconnect/reconnect though.

Same here, I booted up the laptop yesterday morning to a BIOS update. I thought the only place where BIOS updates can automatically applied was Dell Command Update and I have that set to manual.

Maybe it was the Windows 10 Updater?

BIOS 1.8.3 was offered via Windows Update starting Thursday afternoon. It is listed as "Dell, Inc. driver update for System Firmware 1.8.3".

I'm not sure why it was offered to me, as I had 1.8.3 installed already, but I can see that it was because I have some Windows Update alerts set up. I was out of the office and away from the laptop for the holiday but it looks like Windows installed it automatically for me Sunday afternoon. I have not rebooted yet to see what happens.

Automatically pushing a BIOS update seems shady. I get that they are trying to get people who would never think about it on the latest version, but you can easily run into issues. For example, here at the office we use BitLocker, and a BIOS update will trip the BitLocker protection and require a recovery key after reboot unless you suspend it first. Also, pushing the update on a holiday is a super smart thing to do...

I agree, pushing a BIOS update can be downright damaging. I for example, updated the BIOS back in March and it disabled/broke the USB-C/Thunderbolt port. 3 mother board replacements and 4 system replacements later before it was fixed. Somewhere in that 10 week time span Dell released a newer BIOS that corrected the previous Thunderbolt breaking release.
