Need some help please. I'm trying to install Windows onto a new M.2 SSD but my Win 10 media doesn't contain any drivers for it so it doesn't recognise it.

    Which drivers do I need?

If the SATA mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI, Windows should be able to access it without any additional drivers. If it is set to RAID, you need to grab the Intel Rapid Storage drivers.
(I would recommend using AHCI unless you actually need to set up a RAID array.)

I have recently bought a 7510 from Dell outlet in the UK i7-6820HQ with IGZO screen, and thunderbolt/usb c port.

Due to problems that occurred switching from SATA to AHCI (black screen after making the bios setting change with no dell logo / boot options), an engineer has now swapped out my Motherboard.

Is there any easy way of telling if they've installed the right version of the motherboard with USB-C/Thunderbolt support without dismantling the system again. I'm a little suspicious as the BIOS had quite an old version number (now upgraded to 1.05.04), and the "Enable Thunderbolt Ports" option in the BIOS is greyed out!

The order for the part was "8H8T6 - contains MB SKL, I7QC1"

    Thanks - Rufus.

Sounds like you ran into the same problem as me. Dell had a tech swap the motherboard and they installed an older, pre-USB-C version which rendered all the ports on the left side of my machine useless.
Like you, I had the exact same change in the BIOS with all the Thunderbolt options being greyed out.

Unfortunately you will need to have Dell swap the motherboard again.

As an update to my situation for anyone interested, as I mentioned previously Dell sent a tech to replace the motherboard 3 times, and all three times they sent the wrong motherboard (pre-USB-C). They decided they couldn't send the right motherboard so said they would just exchange the entire laptop. After a couple weeks I got a replacement system; HOWEVER, this system had the wrong display. I originally had the 1920x1080 UltraSharp display and the replacement had the cheapest display choice. So they shipped another laptop to exchange the wrong one. Two weeks later I got another replacement that again had the wrong display (again, the cheapest option, not the UltraSharp.) So as of 2 days ago they are supposed to be creating a third replacement with the correct display.

So to sum it up, Dell has shipped 3 wrong motherboards, 2 wrong laptops, and I'm waiting on the 3rd replacement to see if it's correct. As you can imagine, I'm not very pleased.

Not to encourage dissension, but after that much frustration I might ask for a credit since they cannot get it right, then switch to a competitor. Fingers crossed as 7th time is a charm, am I right?

I would normally would have screamed "HERESY!" and started hunting down @ygohome with a pitchfork over what he said about going to a competitor but he does have a point, Dell has making up to do with @farrenyoung for the hassle he has gone through. Hope this next laptop is good.

Yeah I've decided if the 3rd replacement isn't right, I'll be asking for a full refund and returning everything. It's been ~4 months so they will likely refuse, but I have a feeling my credit card company will side with me on this one and do a chargeback if I have to go that route.

You know the quality of the system has been great so I would hate to have to get a different machine; it's just the warranty/exchange teams have been absolutely horrific. Sadly, I've not even been able to have any of these replacements expedited. I've waited around 2 weeks between replacements. I think they basically have to wait until they can find a refurbished unit that meets/beats my original specs. Which may be part of why they've sent me two wrong laptops (no system met my exact specs so they sent what was closest.)

The funny thing about all of this, they originally replaced the motherboard due to the 1.4.14 BIOS breaking the USB-C port. As I was about to receive my first replacement laptop they released a new BIOS that fixed the original issue I had. Only problem for me was I no longer had a functional USB-C motherboard. *sigh*
