Yes base specs were as a LED WXGA but.....all the E6400s state LED not a CCFL among the Outlet listing, Check it out. Pretty strange the laptop is great other then that and If I exchange who knows what I'll get and I'm reading about a lot of issues about the LEDs so I basically cannot make up my mind as to return it. I believe the reminding specs are still good considering the cost are they not ? If a coupon comes out within the week I probably will do an return and reorder but who knows. i dislike current customer service compared to my earlier purchases....what a hassle maybe that's because this is an Outlet purchase.

Heh, the LED screen is simply amazing. Forget what all the complaints are because they do not affect all screens. It looks great, the contrast is just right, and I have no problem starting at that screen for hours. Once I turned up Digital Vibrance, it got even better. Try getting a LED replacement from Dell, you won't regret it.

Plus the fact you don't have to stare at your ugly :)P) mug everytime you open up your computer screen.

It's a setting under video options in the Nvidia Control Panel, so yes I'm assuming so.

Researching this issue further I have found many people have purchased the E6400 from the Outlet thinking they were buying a WXGA led display to find upon receiving the laptop that it is a CCFL. Beware this is a common issue. Some reported money was credited to their credit card for the error....many others were told to return the unit as in my case. I still I'm undecided at this point as I have until Fri I believe to return it. I seen a unit with similar specs as mine last night but I held off to be certain Dell support were not going to nail me with a restocking fee and of course they are not open until Monday........looked today units been sold. Might be easier to keep this laptop as it has no issues other then the wrong display. Oh and as reordering goes several people pusued thst route only to recieve another with the CCFL........geez.

I'd contact the AG of your state, and launch a BBB complaint if I were you. Fraud from a big company is always a good target for lawyers :).

I hear want you saying but fraud I believe must be intentional. They made a mistake on the listings. How the Customer Support handles the mistake now that's a different story. With so many complaints about receiving the wrong display you would think they would double check stock for proper descriptions. If they offer to credit the upgrade difference to my CC that would show good faith at least. Returning the unit to get another with the same backlight and/or lesser specs.......hmmm I just don't know. :)
