under properties is a SEC5442 is this not a CCFL ? Other then this
all looks great no scratches problems etc at least the past few days of use. Unfortunetly I did not get to use any coupons on this deal . Missed the coupon deal by two days called and pleaded my case to no avail.

The hardware id will not give you an answer. I have a 2CCFL 15,4" screen with id SEC5443 while the 17" RGB LED screens on the m6400 have the same id....not really sure how to tell if it's a WLED or CCFL actually, there are some tell tale signs for the RGB LED but i dont know of any for the WLED

Yes this is confusing. I was in the Dell Live chat and they stated my E6400 with that SEC5441 was a CCFL type display well as one can see the Outlet system I bought suppose to come with a 14.1 inch Widescreen WXGA (1280x800) LED Display. Looking at the options on the new E6400 they are all LED type display so whats with the CCFL stuff.

Well I believe on a exchange with outlet they are not obligated to send a system of the same specs. Is this correct?

There is an easy way to tell if it is LED or not.

Use the laptop for a half hour or so with the screen on the whole time, then touch around where the Dell logo is below the screen. If it is warm, you have a CCFL, if it is cool, you have an LED.

Will they just replace the display? Is it worth the hassle, alot of complaints about the LED screens.

Call up business support, if your receipt says LED you should gotten a LED. You should be able to get a new display.
