I downloaded bios A02 a few days ago in preparation for my m6800 which should arrive next week.

Now I saw that only bios A01 is downloadable any more.

Is is save to install A02 or was it pulled because of a problem?

Dell_Mano-G, do you have any information on that?

Just called my rep, because my m6800 hasn't shipped today, yet. It doesn't appear that it will :/

According to him, the Covet (touchscreen) I ordered hasn't even left the pre-built stage (whatever that is). He's telling me that he's been fielding calls, all week, with orders that never shipped. He states that it was some kind of SKU snafu, and that notices aren't sent out until after the expected ship dates have passed...

I won't have any solid answers until next week, but there seems to be a better than 50% chance that I will have to cancel my original order and start fresh

So this is just a heads up, to anyone who has been patiently waiting, like me - call your reps, and check the status - it may never come. I have no specifics on which models may be affected. Obviously, pre-configured systems are probably immune

Similar here the UK . Ordered m6800 (4900mq, k4100m, 16gb 1866ghz, fhd screen) few days after it became available
I was promised it would be delivered by the end of September, then 3rd of October and just found out that it was shipped from China yesterday. I guess there are some delays they didn't expect to happen, as they moved estimated delivery day few times. Hopefully will get my hands on it sometimes next week

Caveat emptor. My experience with ebay is 50/50...on a good day.

Ps: Why is it missing the left view?

Just received my m6800 and put my WWAN card 5620 from my m6500 into it.

But the driver package from the device does not install. Running setup.exe gives "Unable to validate model".

There is a password protected models.zip besides the setup.exe.
Does anyone know if setup.exe or the zip can be patched to use that card in another Precision model?

I copied the inf, cat and sys files from my m6500 windows over to the m6800 and could install a driver which brings me a COM3 device for the 5620 WWAN card. But on the m6500 the setup brought up a network and modem device as well which does not show up on the m6800.

I tried adding manual modem or network cards based on the copied inf files. But no device was found.

So any hints how to make that card work would be very welcome.

For the mSata drive: I copied a vhd from the msata (crucial m4) to an internal Samsung 840 EVO which ran at about 350mb/s.
So that indicates sata III as well. The specs pdf seems to be wrong.
