Has anyone received an m6800 yet? Mine has been "In Production" since 9/19. Supposed to ship Friday (Monday delivery), but based on past orders that were quickly shipped, I'm starting to have doubts :/

Can you post screen caps of the QHD screen with popular programs like AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, 3DSMax and Adobe Ps?

With and without scaling perhaps as well?

Hold tight. The brand new models have a longer processing time than normal orders.

(I bought my M6700 at launch and it sat in production for about two weeks. I had the opportunity to speak with Dell-Mano_G, one of the top Precision manager guys at Dell, who mentioned that this was a "safe launch" period, during which they are checking the production line very carefully. A few other people here had bought one and they ended up all shipping out at the same time.)

 

Thank you for the quick response. I'm hoping it ships a day early, so I get it by Friday. Would like to have the weekend to set it up.

 

Just to respond to some misquotes: Both the M4800 & M6800 mSATA ports are SATA3 spec, 6GBs.

 

Do you have any supporting documentation for this? I'm hoping that's true.

Also - any word on when the 6800 will ship?

 

if Dell-Mano_G says it then it is most likely true... He's one of the people in charge of the Precision workstation line at Dell.

 

There are no misquotes by those of us who are saying that the M4800 manual states that the mSATA drive is SATA2. The manual clearly says that the mSATA drives in both the M4800 and M6800 are SATA2. We are quoting the manual correctly. If these drives are indeed SATA3 then there is an error in the pdf. It's probably a good idea to correct it. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, and it could affect decisions made by people intending to purchase your laptops.

We'll need someone to test to confirm, but I've seen at least one error in the M6700 manual that was carried over from the M6600 (bluetooth module location).
