On my old m65 you had additional clicking noise when you pressed a key on the left side because the whole keyboard was going down and made a noise as it reached the internals below.

Absolutely no issue on my m6500. And I expect the m6800 to be the same.
As said I'll report back when mine arrives.

Can't find a separate thread on the 4800, so I'm asking here:

Does the 4800 have a headphone/microphone combo port? eg the type that you can plug the headphone of your phone in? Looking at the Dell specs page, it just mentions separate headphone and microphone jacks, which would suck.

Then it has separate ones like the models before, but a short adapter cable is a simple solution (though still a somewhat inconvenient one if you move your Precision a lot and use a headset with a combined jack).

    m6800 delayed to 8th Oct. :(

But a problem in our m500 order brought me to a new order (some other shop, not Dell) with two Samsung EVO 1TB drives :D

    Be patient; you'll get it.
In RAID? I briefly considered that configuration especially after the new extended mSATAs came to market. Ultimately, I was better of to configure separate drives since video editing is my primary use.

Nevertheless, if that is your intentions, I'd sure like to see some speed results once you're up and running.

For the M4800, can you run the mSATA + Air (ODD) Bay as a 2 drive RAID array?

Yep, bitterly disappointed with Dell customer support right now. Not only have they missed their delivery date, I'm still waiting for a reliable update on eta. Apparently it's left the manufacturing facility in China... Not sure where the slow boat has got to?

    Considering alternatives right now.

I think the machines are worth a little waiting ;-)

    Have you ordered one?

I think being in tune with your customer and their interests creates customer satisfaction, and eventually customer loyalty. It's something which, until now has always impressed me and kept me coming back to Dell. It doesn't take much to break that trust though, in a highly competitive market.

Still, surprisingly, waiting for a call / email back from Dell customer support... Maybe they're hoping the problem will go away if they ignore it? Not good business - honest communication is critical to building and maintaining trust.

Maybe something has changed at Dell?
