unfortunately I dont have the chassis to go with those, nor I would want something that slow now.

BUT, if you have those desktop monitors send them my way, I wont mind at all

No, this is not a symmetric situation since the number of horizontal pixels (1920) is the same for both aspect ratios: In your case, all you'd "suffer" is having additional vertical pixels you don't need, you're not loosing horizontal pixels. For us 16:10 fans, we are loosing vertical pixels with 16:9 screens.

btw, even ultrabooks (like the nextgen acer S7) have 2560 displays now... hopefully we'll see this resolution in the next precisions...

Precision generally comes at the end of the release cycle. Probably a month or two left before we hear about it. Patience. :)

Unless some new display options are forthcoming, the M6800 might reuse the current chassis and just fit the new motherboard supporting Haswell CPUs. Besides some improvements in battery life (both for IPS and non-IPS screens) and perhaps Thunderbolt support are there any other potential benefits? I presume the 10-bit color support is not present (AGAIN?) - I'd expect Apple to put pressure on Intel for this considering the Macbooks seem to be a preferred choice for graphics.

The CPUs with the strongest 5200 series integrated graphics would probably not be offered as they come in BGA package only and you mainly benefit from them if you don't have a dedicated GPU which all the Precisions have (at least ATM).

Nope. According to Gigabyte, it depends on the USB device, and its also fixable by a Microsoft software patch.
