as i remember from the video on vimeo someone posted, top is aluminum and bottom is carbon something. The design is below expeccted standards. But as long as it can perform, I dont care how it looks.

Frm the tvc, u can see that he attach the cable to the left side of M3800, which in next cut is towards the dock and there is one other cable from the dock going out. Power? Monitor? And why attach a cable from the precision to the dock? lightning/thunderbolt? and assuming if the cable out of the dock is power, then got dock got wireless display??? or else the dock is powered by USB??

just a bunch of questions for some speculation.

and someone posted this link in the M3800 thread. http://www.custompcreview.com/artic...hes-precision-m3800-mobile-workstation/18424/

got highres pics of side and the usb ports got some icon i cant quite figure out. Any help to decode it is highly appreciated.

Yup, all plastic. No aluminum lid, no carbon fiber bottom, just good old squeaky cheapo brittle plastic.

It's almost funny how people who would never consider this unit try to bash it for anything but reasons that really matter. I'll give you a clue - it's got a Gorilla Glass Touchscreen. What do you think about that, professionals?

Would be nice to put m3800 posts in a separate thread.

Simple: I won't buy any laptop that has a touchscreen, or that comes with Windows 8.
