Either way, system costs the same later anyway...add $130 to all prices without the docking station, and $0 to all prices with the docking station. That will be the total cost of all stuff.

What did you decide? I've been fighting this same battle all week, and finally decided on an E6400. I placed the order today, and as of now, my estimated ship date is Oct. 2nd. I hope it shows up sooner! :)[IMG]:D

i think you should get the E6400 because it's cheaper and the screen is bigger. Unless you really care that much about the weight of the laptops, I don't see any reason to get the E4300.

I just got off the phone a few minutes ago with Dell EPP (rep stayed late to finish the order).

    Here is the final configuration:
So kick butt laptop, Dell docking station, and $100 to put towards the $99 LCD stand I'll want. Not to mention I already have another 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive, standby by for aftermarket upgrades.

Looks like a nice config, roll with it I say, and maybe pretend you're wavering and ask for a 2-year warranty to sweeten it a little, those are usually easier to score than price drops or hardware upgrades when the rep is trying to seal the deal. Could also just use an Amex or Discover card for purchase to get their automatic + 1 year warranty coverage.

Since you weren't too happy with the E6400's weight I thought you might have drifted towards the smaller E4300. It depends on whether you really want the extra screen real estate when away from the dock and the big monitor.

Sorry if I missed out on anything, what was wrong with your first E6400?
