    Hi Jun Austria,

Why are your options limited compared to the USA?

I here you on speeding up Revit 2010, on startup, that’s why I went with 8GB 1600MHz
    4 DIMM’s @ 2GB each Revit needs Speed lots of Speed lol :) .

Do you have Use Hardware Acceleration (Direct3D) checked, and
Use Anti-Aliasing for 3D views checked in the Graphics Tab of the Options Menu of Revit
    See Attachad.

SSD’s are the best, I went with dell’s 128GB Mobility SSD just for the caddy and it will make
An Excellent factory install backup. I like Acronis True Image for cloning my hard drives

Update all Programs and Drivers, and then clone dell’s SSD to my new
OCZ Vertex Series SSD 120GB SSD

The easiest thing for Nvidia users to do is to turn the digital vibrance down to 45%, but its not an ideal solution.

The ideal solution would be for Dell to provide us with individual gain controls for R, G, and B for these panels. If Dell can provide NTSC, sRGB, and aRGB settings through control point, they should be able to provide us with individual video gain controls.

I have settled on running the panel at a brightness level of 7 which gives a color temp close to 6500K and a luminance of 175 before calibration. I then let the Datacolor Syder 3 elite create the color profile for 6500K @ 2.2 gamma.

There is still the issue of these panels running a gamma of 1.8 which is standard for Macintosh users, but not for anyone else. Windows, Web, and TV should have a gamma of 2.2. Having to let a color profile shift gamma can lead to banding.

For fun, here is my ICM color profile. This profile was created by the Datacolor Spyder 3 Elite (with no color changes from the display driver or nvidia control panel) and a brightness level of 7.

Don't know if you will have to install the Profile Chooser software from Datacolor. It should be available in the downloads section of their site. I don't know if you would have to register it.

I have the Spider Elite 3 coming this week so I will be eager to see if we are getting the same calibrations.

Also I have never seen a laptop internal display offer any type of hardware or manufacturer level of control over gain. You always are forced to use driver software to do this which makes sense in 99% of cases because most internal displays don't calibrate very well at all.

But since these (M6500) displays are marketed towards being a professional level image editors dream etc who people who depend on accurate color you'd think they would have a little more factory support for setting up the display.

It could be though that most pros all use 3rd party color meters and software so they did not bother.

I used to use Xrite but the software does not support Window7 so I am stuck with it.

    MannyA,

That's the question I also asked. Which I didnt get a straight answer. Considering most of the parts are made in ASIA. But I envy your configuration. You have a good setup to run Revit. And thanks for the tip.

Hopefully, maybe middle of this year. The i7-920XM CPU, 1600 RAM and more SSD option will arrive in my region(Brunei). Then I will do an upgrade for my baby(M6500) after a year of use:) . Even at the present configuration, I can say it still work with the speed of my thoughts.

    Cheers

    :)

I have a Monaco Optix XR (X-Rite DPT94) that I do find great to calibrate my screens, you telling me it won't work under Windows 7 ? Even with that version of the software ? http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?ID=607&Action=support&SoftwareID=746

P.S: dezoris, did you try that driver, it should work under Windows 7 x64 even if it only says till Vista
