Woohoo my laptop arrived this morning. It looks very sexy (I got the Covet). Its impressive and very fast! the keyboard is the best I've used so far (even the backlit feature is really nice). Arma2 & UT3 play very well -all at 1920x1200! and Max2010 and PS4 were able to put a huge grin on my face! I'm hoping that VS2010 & some VM's will do the same!

Unfortunately I've come across three issues so far ...

    1) The wifi 5300 card is playing up - slow speeds, unreliable connect etc.
I've updated the Wifi link 5300 driver to v13.0.0.107 but thats not helping much. (I know my network is fine as all my other laptops are working with no issues)

    2) I hear a strange sound (like a tiny faint click) now and then from the left speaker. I'm hoping this can be resoved via future driver update.

    3) The webcam seems likes its a 1.3 mega pixel (quality is really bad). I have a logitech notebook pro that is a 2mp and the image clarity is awesome -but alas the M6500's 2mp webcam is pants!

Hi, I have the same problem with sound card. In addition, when I listen some music, the sound freezes for very short period (50 ms at most) and continues normally. It happens few times per hour. I'm not sure if this isn't only AIMP2 (which I use) problem.

On the other hand I have no issues with Wifi, it works really fine, no issues since I got my Covet (13.1.).

Same here - best connection of any laptop I have owned or used.

I would open the back of the machine and make sure all three of the antennae are hooked up. I posted pics earlier in the thread with a closeup of the antenna connections. If you don't feel comfortable opening up the machine, put in a service call.

I had problems with it in Vista running dual monitors. The gamma loader would work on the primary but the secondary it would always be off. And since Windows7 uses completely different color management I doubt it will work at all. When I called X-Rite support they said Vista support was pretty much added after the fact so I dont have much faith.
I also have the same color meter as you.

Many thanks, I've tried to sRGB, but it seemed too pink for my taste...:)

I realize now that I made a mistake ordering an RGBLED display...should have known better :( .

Anyway, I'll try to compensate by learning more about color and fixing what I can.

    Thanks!

Netgear N150, Linksys 160, Apple Air Port Express - at home. All are wireless N.

At work the access points are B/G band Aruba.

Try this. Go to http://www.datacolor.com/ and click on Support, the Consumer Support. Click on Downloads. Download Profile Chooser 1.0.8.

Then grab the color profile that I posted. When you unzip it, you should see a profile called Laptop Native.icm . Windows 7 will let you install it by right clicking. Otherwise you will have to put it in windows/system32/spool/driver/color/

You should be able to to then choose the calibrated profile in Profile Chooser.
