Then you are correct. You can not see any uses for the GPS system. That doesn't mean that other people won't find a use though :)

Getting ready to install a second Seagate 500gb 7200rpm drive to see how the M6500 does in a raid setup. Hopefully fast enough to put off buying an SSD for a while. The speed with 1 of the drives is the capped 5.9.

I will be doing another install from scratch.

No need to warn me about using a Seagate. I use the ST9500420A which does not have G-Force Protection built in. I back up to a Western Digital external over the (very speedy) E-Sata interface. I made my own hard drive decisions and chose the fast drive with the 5 year warranty. I highly recommend making up your own mind when you make purchases as well :)

I Use a 350GB Western Digital Scorpio Black external hard drive for my Back ups. One for Autodesk, one for every day use :)

You never know, crash bang bum :( there went all your hard work, don’t let that happen to you.

I use Acronis True Image, for all my Backups it’s Simple and Secure!!

I have a 500 gig WD Elements portable...but the thing about DropBox (I pay for the 50gigs storage) is that it's automatic and between the two, the chance of losing data is almost nil.....plus it's keeps my Linux and Win7 boxes in sync....after the first big upload, it's fast....worth checking out!

    http://www.dropbox.com/

I pay the 9 bux a month for the 50gigs because I sync

    Documents
    Music
    Pictures
    Videos (big upload at first!)

It's a first class program....the best of it's kind....I found it recommended on Tekzilla and a couple of forums.

I've thought about that...I'm sure someone with Dropbox CAN have....but I'm not worried about that as their business depends on the security as well. I don't keep credit card numbers, etc on there anyway....that's my view on it.

EDIT: Here is the Dropbox forum....discussions about Security et al there if interested:
