I initially thought the same thing about the FX 3800M, but have changed my mind. They have moved down to a 55nm manufacturing process which is allowing them to up the clocks significantly. It is now the fastest single card you can buy for a laptop computer.

Nividia has also added powermizer 9.0 which means that at idle the card is only drawing 10 watts.

More speed, more battery life, whats not to like? The lack of Direct X 11.

id say that the i7 does whip the core 2 quads , especially in notebook terms , where performance per watt and performance per hertz is my main interest

if only we could oc them a touch

i wish we could get another pin moddable cpu and motherboard like back in the pentium m days

Well, here in Sweden there is a consumer protection law that says that with anything bought over the phone or over internet you have a 30 day after delivery, the right to return it with full return of your money. It had been in production for 6 weeks but they hadn't yet delivered it. So basically, they had no choice. If they said "no" to me then I would have threatened them but it did not need to go so far. They simply said "ok" and now my new m6500 has the same delivery date as the old m6400. How they managed that I don't understand...
