I hope you are successful. I'll be going through a similar process in about two weeks trying to calibrate the display. I'll look forward to learning from your efforts.

Why do you need ControlPoint for that? isn't that functionality in the Color Management Control Panel applet?

No one knows everything we all have to ask for help at some point, but Bokeh you did not state that you were doing a clean install, your post sounded like there was something wrong with the M6500.

As I can tell there is nothing wrong with the M6500. There are people trying to decide on the M6500 or not, your post had me thinking about the display. And I am not the only one you need to be careful with your wording.

This was new to me too. The control point software is the only way I could get to the srgb and argb modes. The modes are just like the u2410 monitor has built into the menu system through the front panel controls (but it is an external monitor).

The calibration from the rgbled lcd on the m6500 in ntsc mode at brightness level 5 is the best i have gotten from a laptop to date. Brightness of 130 is pretty perfect for editing work and the colors are not that far off now. It is just not quite as good as the u2410 or 2408 - yet.

Hopefully tomorrow i will sort out the sRGB and aRGB modes. Sorry for any confusion. I almost hate being this early of an adopter of a new machine.

Uhmm, yes? So, what does that have to do with the fact that your question made no sense whatsoever?

I don't have an M6500 in front of me, and I installed the OS from scratch on my M6400, without the Dell CP software. So the reason I was asking was that maybe Dell's CP software comes with additional color profiles, that are not included in the stock OS? Anybody know?

Or, even worse but a common issue with Dell machines, the original factory configuration does include additional files or components that cannot be obtained separately in any way, and thus will be lost if a re-install is desired or becomes necessary.

The U2410 is a nice monitor I am Ordering this monitor to. It has the same Resolution as the M6500 1920x1200 (max) WUXGA

the U2410 and the M6500 should work together out of the box, no?
