I'm thinking the monitor.. I googled it & seems to be pretty common. Very strange... updated drivers from Nvidia - what is everyone's Quadro 3800 driver #?

    266.58 here.

    Hey guys,

Anyone have monitor profiles for the normal LG WLED w/Nvidia screens? I've only seen profiles for the RGB LED screens floating around here on the forums.

What's the revision of your U2711? Mine is Rev. A04. I have read in some forums that early revisions could develop symptoms like yours.

Thinking about it, it could also be the monitor. Replace either one and go from there. Troubleshooting is all about eliminating one by one. :D

Then there is some probability that it could be the graphics card, as I haven't heard of any such problems with the later revisions.

The LCD screen on one of my M6500 went dead, get nothing{not even BIOS loading] upon start up. Connecting an external monitor on the side port, the external monitor works.{Video Card OK]

Is the issue the LCD Display Panel or ?

    Suggestions, Opinion ??

As I do not have an extra Display Panel.

    Thank You

    Joseph

Josephp, may be your screen is dead?

I just got my screen replaced and I must say I'm impressed with my new panel. 0 dead/stuck pixel, backlight is completely uniform and better color out of the package. Good stuff.

Yeah that sounds like a defective LCD? Are you still under Dell warranty and have on site service?

I always use the Windows 7 64bit drivers from the Nivida site for my 3800M video card. I have never had the issues talked about here. I have had my machine since very early Jan 2010, so I would guess the hardware Revs are all very early.

The one and only anomaly is that sometimes on boot when the nvidia drivers kick in, the screen goes black. I just have my machine set up to "do nothing" when you close the screen so that I can close it and reopen it and everything is fine afterward. This happens around once every other week and its random enough that I don't know what causes it. The timing of when the screen goes dark makes it definitely look driver related. Maybe its because I always disable the nvida software and services.
