AdamHLG, what brand are your mems? Are they Hynix by any chance?

Personal decision. They quoted me $1300 something, IIRC. So now I am debating whether I should get the card or get a new custom build desktop /w sandy bridge.

I had so much BSOD that it could be only M6500 fault. After investigation, I find out that Gdata gave me these BSOD. I switched to Kaspersky and no more BSOD for the moment.

Nevertheless, for solving this problem I had to take a very closed look to event viewer and one warning is still not solved. At each start of the machine I get this warning "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_01\7&66de6c9&0&0001.".

I googled my problem and I did not find so much information about it, except this specific webpage which leads me to conclude that this problem is specific of M6500.

Does anybody have this warning? I think it's software related and I want to know if anybody solved this problem.

I am into photo editing big time.

I have a CG221 Eizo monitor and have had several M6400s and M6500s.

I use the EyeOne Pro spectrophotometer and am very happy with the profiles I get, but the results vary substantially depending on the screen. (Always RGB screens in my case)

In my experience the more recent the date of manufacture the better the profiles (I tend to prefer the LG displays, but the Samsungs are not very far behind)

I do not know about other profile devices, but a wide gamut one, like the i1 Pro works very well with the M6500 RGB screens.

And yes, always starting from a native color space, which seems to be the NTSC.

I have had freezes in four different M6500s.

Sometimes followed by blue screens, always indicating Nvidia driver error

I also had Nvidia driver recovery errors in all machines.

    I am running W 7 64 on 2 x Intel X25 160GB G2 SSDs in Raid 0

I have had my M6500 replaced by an almost new one. Same problem.

We have worked hard on this for three months now.

Dell tech has been very keen to help, but, so far, unsuccessful.

Yes, there is a design issue somewhere, still unidentified.

In my case, the laptop works well with the single spin drive that came with the machine. No freezes or Nvidia errors at all.

We are concluding that my Raid 0 SSD array may be incompatible with the Nvidia driver.. Go figure.

But yes, Dell should acknowledge that there is an issue here and work with whoever is necessary, Nvidia, most likely, to fix it.

The amount of time, effort and money lost because of this errors is inmense.

That error is due to having installed Control Point Security software and not having the specific device installed (finger print, smart card reader etc)

The software tries to install the driver but since the corresponding device is not there the error is thrown.

I have had the same error on severl M6400 and M6500 machines, and it can be safely ignored.

Dell should write the Control Point software better.

It's the speaker, because at first I thought it was the track pad and then maybe a sticky key button, but as I observed and put my right ear close to the speakers I heard it. :O

nope. My original memory was not the problem memory - nor is the replacement.

Do you know where I could buy a hard-drive bracket (for second HDD)?
    Documentation
I know Dell doesn't ship the mounting bracket unless you ordered a hdd from dell. It's little bit overpriced. Maybe you know a place I could order just a bracket?
