sup fellas, I have an issue, my firewire doesn't seem to be working, it is powering my external sound card but windows isn't recognizing it, even as an 'unrecognized device' I did install the TI PCI8412 Memory Card Drivers should I be installing other drivers? Thanks

    USB 3.0 Drivers

I just installed the USB 3.0 internal card and the 3.0 drivers from the Dell web site.

Looks like it is not working!

    Any Suggestions?

    Thank You

    Joseph

Just experienced my first BSOD. I don't remember the words exactly, but I think I saw "USB_DRIVER" something. I think it has something to do with my external hard drive. All 4 ports are occupied.

Does anyone have any benchmarks comparing the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 card with the Ultimate-N 6300 card?

The 6300 is cheap enough where I would go buy one if performance was even slightly better. It uses the third antenna cable. I do a good amount of file transfers over a Wireless-N network, and every little bit helps. I don't use it for streaming.

Quoting myself to update information. Further testing has shown that, at least with the QM57 chipset in the 8740w, an Arrandale actually can detect all 4 memory slots in a quad-core board... but it can only address up to 16 GB, and won't boot with more than that. Tested configurations appear in this post here. This at least shows what appear to be the limits of the CPU, and not the chipset/motherboard. I don't know if the different PM55 chipset in the Dell M6500 might limit things further.
